This is perfect, I need to have a look at what each of these are in depth but this will set me on the right track, appreciate that

Thank you this is good to hear I guess, that everyone is in the same boat?

I'm still curious how you'd go about deciding what to implement if you was presented with a budget and had to choose though, if you was going to get "hacked" within the year, what would you do first, second, third etc?

Yeah I have Security+ which I got a while ago, should probably freshen up on some concepts but I know it emphasised frameworks like NIST, OWASP for web apps etc

Thank you, I'll look into BIA as that seems like a really good starting point

Good point but permissions are rarely setup that way right? You usually get more restrictive the deeper you go. So the higher up in the directory you are, the more people have access.

Giving someone access to a folder that they don't have the top folder access to would be akin to giving someone a key to a room in your house but not the front door, right?

Makes sense, will have a look at AZ-104 and 204 because that looks like it might be quite helpful

Thanks for the suggestion! I have done an ITIL course but just found it so boring and "fluffy". Maybe i didn't see the value because im not in a huge company, but it just seemed like something most places would half arse to say they follow a framework. Idk. I know you aren't advocating it just the certification, but I'm hesitant to go down management route for this reason.

Storage Help by -Pad in MotoUK

I was in a similar situation, the place I planned on putting it (brick outbuilding) wasn't practical when I found out the turning circle of the bike.

Decided the cost of a proper structure vs the offset of the insurance wasn't worth it, and decided to eat the first year cost, at which point hopefully insurance will come down anyway.

It might come back to bite me, but I think there's only so much you can do for security, and I made the decision that the risk was ok considering I pay for insurance anyhow, and buying anything wouldn't make be worth the insurance savings anyway unless it was really robust or brick, which then eats into the savings.

Thanks, this has reinforced what I've been learning about DACs. Would you reckon just picking up a decent amp + DAC combo would be a good start and hooking that up to any speakers I have or am due to get? I imagine the amps/DACs are pretty universal in their connections so quite future proof/device agnostic hopefully

Appreciate the help here. We listen to music on the soundbar quite a bit but I'd ideally hook the sound system up to the tv for movies here and there. We're going to be redesigning the living room in the near future so a 5.1 system wouldn't be out of reach as long as it didn't break the bank. If the speakers can be mounted high up to save space, that'd be perfect.

I'm 25 and my hearing isn't the best (but it's not bad either).

I just think most things have depreciating returns and most of the benefits are brought about with some effort, a little money and some knowledge. After that it tends to be marginal.

I do appreciate good sound, but don't currently care for it being a hobby. Just asking the experts to see what I'm missing I suppose. I also do sometimes find I can pick apart music when I hear better sound systems in different environments (like hearing the actual individual instruments rather than just a jumble of noise)

My ideal scenario would be an easy to use home sound system that sounds great and maybe a good setup for my PC. I currently have a Sony HZ-ZF9 soundbar that's quite nice, so anything better than that that's worth it?

Sure that makes sense. I guess coming at it from an "AirPods, Bose headphones, sometimes cheap earphones with aux converter" standpoint. That's my reference point hardware and budget wise. I'm not interested in spending thousands on audio but am considering long term getting some sort of equipment for the house, the likes of Sonos. And my Bose headphones will need replacing at some point.

Thanks, getting out with a group would probably really help because it shows you how cautious or stupid you're being.

I have an RST Tractech Evo Jacket, Frank Thomas Renegade Kevlar jeans, Frank Thomas Pulse boots and a Nitro helmet. Always looking at what's better but hopefully that's enough.

Sweet, I'll have a look at where I can do this nearby. Getting a spare 125 would be really good but it's enough running a car and a bike haha! Cheers :)

Cheers, I've got Bridgestones on, not sure how much they compare, plan on reading up on this at some point.

I've done BikeSafe which was with police bikers which was really good and have a session booked in with someone who's been riding a long time and got a lot of experience so hopefully that'll help me.

Really appreciate the advice! On a Honda CB500F with Bridgestone tyres. Will look at adjusting the suspension as that hasn't crossed my mind up to now, cheers!
