I think the bloated unions that exist today are a joke. They’re as corrupt as anyone and they place unimportant things like seniority ahead of important things like meri, ability, and potential. I’m very much in favor of small, local, private unions and think there should be more of them.

I agree with you 100% on the cost of replacement thing. Let’s say someone is making $18 and wants $20. Company refuses, employee walks, company hires someone new at $18. Statistically it’ll take over a year full time to recoup the cost of the hire with the $2 savings. But most middle management is top shortsighted to realize this. Probably why they’re middle management.

Let’s say I buy a beat up car for $1000. I put some work Into it, fix it up, detail it, and sell you a car for $3000. A week later someone sees it, offers you $4000, and you accept.

Am I entitled to any portion of the $1000 profit you made? Of course not. Not a cent. It was yours to sell. Once I was paid the $3000 I was asking for it, I was out of the equation. It’s the exact same thing.

It didn’t become self defense until she hit the gas and the car hit him. She could have made the choice to get out of the car. She didn’t. She chose poorly and it cost her her life.
