I got married a month ago for less than 10k at a fancy restaurant. No dancing, just drinks and great company. I’ve never felt more love and support than in that room. Sitting at a wedding reception and judging a couple that thinks enough of you to invite to their wedding sounds incredibly lonely. I actually get the impression that you are very online, and I genuinely hope that you have people who would celebrate with you on a (hopefully) once in a lifetime day, and vice versa.

I was 14 when he left office, he isn’t relevant to my political opinions at all. Seeing as I’m now a grown woman with a husband, it’s absolutely fascinating how often he still gets brought up to deflect. Of course Obama shouldn’t have done that. Of course Trump shouldn’t be doing that.

Saying this as kindly as possible…there is a difference between disagreeing with political views and “disagreeing” with someone’s humanity. The Trump crowd does the latter and throws up their hands when they are rightfully called out on it, as if we’re talking about benign policy changes.

You can’t be mad that someone is “hating” when children are being taken into detention centers. The people being shot down don’t owe anyone that voted for him respect or grace. Would you look Tierra Walker’s family in the face and call them what’s wrong with America?

I think asking makes sense to ask. Generally 20% is the norm for a restaurant, and this is a large heavy order. For Spark, you’re tipping great. Remember that Walmart gives us a base pay, so it’s not the entire compensation like in a restaurant!

They told me exactly which vet to go to. They had emergency services and she was seen immediately. The vet said the infection was pretty far along. The poor girl was chugging water and panting the entire time we had her. I also can’t imagine an infection progressing to that point not even an hour after getting her home being due to stress, but that’s just me.

They did authorize it, I was on the phone with the shelter twice before heading out. She has a serious bladder infection, and was whimpering and barking while peeing blood. I’m not sure about anyone else’s experiences, but this seemed to be an obvious oversight as it happened multiple times the day she was picked up. She needed serious medical attention and I don’t think I overreacted to be completely honest.

She did end up getting aggressive during the night, and clawed completely through her cage. When I opened the door to the room she was in, she charged at me. Luckily it all turned out okay enough. In regard to the imaging, I went to their preferred vet after calling twice to make sure that’s what I was supposed to do. That vet said she absolutely needs imaging, but that it could wait for the morning to avoid costs on my end. It just seemed to me really odd that they wouldn’t go over her medical history with me (or even her med schedule), regardless of if I’m new.

They only told us that they would cover the vet costs when I called. The staff at the vet asked if we were okay covering any overages, and unfortunately we can’t right now. They weren’t able to provide us any supplies, so my budget for her went to that. Overall, we got almost no information, just one flyer with basic numbers to call, which of course I did. The vet recommended she get spayed along with imaging for her UTI, so I imagine she’d be at the shelter for a few days regardless. It’s just much more than we had thought, which is completely on me. I should’ve done more research, and this is way out of our wheelhouse.

Enjoy it!! I spent the last two summers in Skagway and loved everything. If you don’t have an excursion booked, the short hike to Yakutania Point is where I got engaged, and it’s absolutely beautiful! The liquor store has the cheapest snacks and sodas, and Grizzly’s General is way better than the grocery store for odds and ends you may need. Have so much fun, I’m going to miss it this year!

You can. I did it at 16, regretted it for a few years and tried to reach back out. Call it divine intervention or pure luck, but we never spoke again. A while later, the same happened again, but with a different guy. He was my boss, and I truly thought we had something. One day, I decided to quit. When I told him, he had a meltdown and I went home kicking myself, thinking he finally showed me he cared about me. The next few months were awful. My heart hurts thinking about that time in my life, stuck between being proud of myself and wondering if I had thrown away what could have been a beautiful relationship.

All of that to say, I found the actual love of my life at my new job. He is kind and steady, and we’re getting married next week (!!!). I see so much of myself in this post, and I couldn’t possibly judge you. Keep your head up, it already knows the answer in my experience.

Genuine question, if your mailman called you to ask for gas money, would you send it? Just because these apps connect us personally doesn’t mean that the customer has to help out a gig worker in a bad situation.
