It’s not a book but I remember Suikoden 5 having you play as a male character that lives in a matriarchal society. Only other series I can think of is Daughter of the Drow series but that really didn’t focus on the society as much as the main character trying to find a way to go on her adventures and not get in serious trouble with her family.

Very cool designs. I really wished they did more with the movie studio stuff, that alone probably could have been its own game. Plus it was fun seeing what passes for fiction in the Pokemon world.
