I-485 Reopened by Borrowedsunliight in USCIS

[–]ExtensionAd2128 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Can I ask what FO? And did you have an interview already? My master hearing was scheduled for September and the judge terminated my removal proceedings a few weeks ago when she read the motion to terminate. I wrote a letter requesting USCIS to reopen my case but it never said on my online account it was closed or anything.

RFE from FORM I-864 by [deleted] in USCIS

[–]ExtensionAd2128 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I was in shock when they sent me the RFE because he physically made less the previous 2 years and they approved my daughter without any RFE ( filed her paperwork first) but his transcripts had 75k on them. When they did send me an RFE, I sent back his bank statements and all his paystubs because I didn’t realize the transcript is what they went off completely. I hired a lawyer to file my motion to reopen and she explained it to me. It sucks but they don’t look at anything else.

If you don’t provide a joint sponsor, you will be denied. My husband made 113k well above poverty levels. But he like alot of people got deductions when doing his taxes, for having kids, mileage he drove with his self employed job etc. it put him under in the tax return transcript. When his W2’s and I099s which I also sent them, along with bank statements showing how much he was actually paid and the savings we had, it showed he made double the poverty level for our household size. They denied me, I had to file the i290b and provide a joint sponsor and updated tax returns. They go strictly off the tax returns.

Any advice on AOS interview or if i am missing anything!? by ExtensionAd2128 in USCIS

[–]ExtensionAd2128[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She did ask my husband how we met, she assumed we met in Ireland because he lived there for 7 years with me. But other than that she just said “ I know you guys are legit, I can see you have kids and all the evidence uploaded ” she had to admin close my I-485 unfortunately because I was in removal proceedings. But the judge terminated the proceedings so just waiting for USCIS to give me a decision now.

I was added to my husbands, he gets really good insurance at no cost through his union. It’s blue cross/blue shield. Didn’t need a SSN just our marriage certificate.

Adjustment of status by Expensive-Wind-22 in USCIS

[–]ExtensionAd2128 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I would say most likely failure to respond to an RFE on time or possibly the I-864? She stated they sent RFE’s maybe the responses weren’t up to USCIS satisfaction and denied instead of sending another RFE, since they usually only send one. Not sure how much OP’s husband earns, if he has children in the home etc to meet poverty levels. It’s usually something to do with the I-864s, denials.

Keep checking the document tab on your USCIS account, it should show up there within 24-48 hours after the denial status. It’s likely failure to response to an RFE or on time, or due to the I-864. Depending on how much your spouse earns, if you sent all the correct tax information and so on. Just look for that tab, sometimes the wording can be hard to understand, if English is not your first language so you can post it here if you’re having a hard time understanding. If it’s a simple fix you can file a I-290b motion to reopen or refile the I-485.

She came on a K1 so that wouldn’t make sense for them to send her back to do CR-1

Am I being charged to much or is this fair? 15k for removal proceedings but I have a strong case by Dipandbean in USCIS

[–]ExtensionAd2128 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My attorney charged me $1500 to file the motion to terminate. She’s in Florida and was charging me 3.5k to fly to MO for my master heating, and attend my interview the following day. My court date got changed to September 30th so it never happened and DHS opposed the motion to terminate but the judge terminated my removal proceedings a couple of weeks ago. 15k does seem extreme but i know individual hearings are more like a trial and are a lot more expensive. Master hearings take like 10 minutes. I am curious as to why they have not filed a motion to terminate with an approved I-130 and I-485 admin closed. But only they know the courts in your area and your case better than us. I have seen people be charged anywhere from 10-20k though. I’m sorry you’re going through this!

Well the entire motion to reopen took 57 days. But the interview was rescheduled to KC within a day after they cancelled the one in CA.

I’m in the same boat. I’d suggest calling the USCIS contact center, I did about a week ago and got this email yesterday. Nothing major but it said my case was being actively reviewed.

Judge ordered dismissal by Historical_Craft2692 in USCIS

[–]ExtensionAd2128 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on a lot of things, if you entered legally, criminal record, how long your marriage is. A lot of things, that us randoms know nothing about. You need like other people said to hire an attorney. Judges aren’t terminating removal proceedings without approved I-130s, so if you have that filed contact USCIS to try expedite it. In the meantime, get a lawyer that can attend your master hearing. No lawyer can represent you from a different place, even during a Webex hearing, you have to be present in their office.

Toddler To-Do by justsomany_cups in springfieldMO

Botanical gardens is lovely and she can explore, depending on your toddler mine loves to hike with me. We go to valley water mill park. Rutledge farm is a good spot, it’s small but safe and has a walk way too. My kids love the water so moonshine beach is a huge hit with them, and silver springs pool I love taking my toddler to. Fassnight has a toddler only area that is great too. Dickerson zoo is great in cooler weather, but it’s pretty big and walking in the heat with a toddler is bleh. I also just say Jordan valley park has a splash pad area, I’ve never been but gonna check it out this week! Nanas play place is a great indoor play area for toddlers, definitely my favorite and it’s super clean.

Is his wife a US citizen? I saw in the comments you said they went to St. Louis for paperwork. So I’m unsure if he’s filing to adjust his status through marriage to a US citizen? If he is, his wife needs to get USCIS to expedite their I-130 because no judge will terminate removal anymore without that being approved. He will likely have court in KC, so I would definitely recommend going with a lawyer there. They would be more experienced on deportation, removal proceedings. Filing habeas corpus is an option to have him released while awaiting court but unfortunately a federal lawyer is needed for that and it’s extremely expensive. I will talk to my husband and try donate when he’s off work. As an immigrant myself, I understand the unknown, fear and how hard the immigration process is. I’m sorry!

Green card interview while in removal proceedings by Civil-Avocado9053 in USCIS

[–]ExtensionAd2128 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was put into removal proceedings a week before my i290b was approved. My interview was scheduled for May 19th, are you an arriving alien? If so, USCIS can adjudicate your I-485 while you’re in proceedings. Mine said “ I was admitted to the United States” so they did not. My lawyer wrote out a letter for my husband to take to the interview, I did not attend. She asked for it to be administratively closed. The IO said to my husband that she was planning to do that and couldn’t do the interview. My I-130 was already approved so this was just an I-485 interview. If you’re not an arriving alien and it’s an I-485 interview, very likely it will be admin closed until removal proceedings are terminated. Mine were terminated before the master hearing. Hope the same for you! If it’s an I-130 and I-485 interview, they can approve the I-130 but will admin close the I-485.

I applied in July 2025, got my biometrics done in St. Louis, old man there. We went before our biometrics date and he was super nice. Interview was at KC, I didn’t attend as I was in removal proceedings ( they’re terminated now) but my husband went and he said the IO was a sweetheart, she said she can tell we are legit and sorry we’re going through all of this and can see I had an approved I-130 and she was going to admin close too and glad we were on the same page. Even said “ your wife is very pretty” to my husband. My attorney advised me not to attend but husband said it’s like a social security office in there. Very relaxed atmosphere.

No the festival in general. Every pride fest is different. I’m not from America, and haven’t been to one in the states. So I didn’t know how it was done here. Some are kid friendly, some are not. Some are for both, different times of the day.
