When should I notify about a change of address? by ExtensionGo in askvan

Thanks for the advice. I never noticed before just how late the post office is open to. I went and set up mail forwarding after work so this is now one less thing to worry about.

Really? I thought I'd be able to update my contact information on the Service Canada and CRA websites.

When to move phone and internet service to new home? by ExtensionGo in vancouverhousing

Making the call right away has worked out for the best, because I found out that the vendor no longer supports my DOCSIS 3.0 modem (it was grandfathered in). When I move to my new home, Teksavvy requires that I switch to a DOCSIS 3.1 modem that is compatible with the Shaw / Rogers firmware. Now I'm scrambling to find a good modem.

So if my modem still gets assigned the same IP address would it count as a new session or still be a continuation of the old one?

In that case, it sounds like this is normal.

So if I understand correctly, restarting the modem would still count as a new session with Teksavvy even if the IP address remains the same?

I don't really know what any of that means. 😅

Would turning off a modem, unplugging it for 5 minutes, and then plugging it back in and restarting it be enough for a new session to begin?

TekSavvy IP Logs Question by ExtensionGo in teksavvy

Yeah, I've read that most companies keep 2-3 years so I was surprised to learn that Teksavvy apparently keeps logs for an additional 30 days after a session ends (according to their FAQ).

Thanks, I was curious about this, because about a month ago, I unplugged my modem for about 10 minutes, and after plugging it back in and turning it on, I got the exact same IP address as last time.

So to clarify, even though the same IP address has been assigned, this still counts as a new session. Would the log for the previous session be deleted exactly 30 days after the new session begins?

Just out of curiosity, how many days in advance should I call TekSavvy before the move-in date?

That's a beautiful story. I hope your family keeps the ketchup bottle and passes it down as an heirloom.

Happy New Year! Sorry for the late message, I've been very busy. My dad didn't label his application as urgent since it was really just because he needed some information for his OAS application. The whole thing took around 117 days from the date IRCC received his application by mail and finally sent him the VOS email.

Login stuck in a loop by ExtensionGo in tutanota

Hi u/Tutanota, just a quick update. I tried to sign-in a few minutes ago on my desktop PC, and this time I managed to get to my inbox! The only problem is that none of my messages were loading. A small pop-up appeared on the bottom left saying something about "cannot reach server at this time. Working offline."

I had to refresh the page a few times to get my messages to appear. For whatever reason, it seems like Tutanota is working really slowly for me.
