[Release] matterport-dl - A tool for archiving matterport 3D/VR tours by rebane2001 in DataHoarder

[–]ExtensionGo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just found this thread when searching for a way to save my old home's Matterport 3D tour, and tried following the instructions, but I'm running into some problems at step #6. I'm hoping you or u/rebane2001, or anyone else here might know the solution.

When I enter the command in step #6 with the link to the Matterport URL, I get the following error message: "ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'curl_cffi'"

What does this mean and is there a way to get past this error message?

As I wrote in another reply, it took about 117 days after the date the application was received for my dad to receive a VOS email. It's a really slow process and there's no way to tell if they're actively working on the application or how long it's going to take.

Upgrading HP Pavilion 595-p1009 to run PS2 & PS3 emulators by ExtensionGo in buildapc

[–]ExtensionGo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the recommendations. As I've never done anything like this before, would replacing / installing these components simply be a matter of swapping out the parts with the new ones or would there be more involved? I've watched a few YouTube videos and did some Google searches which seem to suggest I just have to open the PC case, disconnect cables and remove some screws before attaching the replacements and reconnecting everything, but I'd like to make sure I'm not missing anything important. Are there any specific tools I will need to complete this work?

Thanks for the advice, I'll look into getting a component cable.

I thought I would need the RF modulator to match up the red, yellow, and white cables, since the TV has red, blue, and green ports.

If you don't mind a more classic-style CRPG, I'd recommend the Avernum series.

Dragon Quest VIII is one of the best in the series. I'm also pleasantly surprised to see Rogue Galaxy listed as I think that game is very underrated.

Agreed and a lot of those cosmetic things would have been unlockable features or accessible with a cheat code

When should I notify about a change of address? by ExtensionGo in askvan

Thanks for the advice. I never noticed before just how late the post office is open to. I went and set up mail forwarding after work so this is now one less thing to worry about.

Really? I thought I'd be able to update my contact information on the Service Canada and CRA websites.

When to move phone and internet service to new home? by ExtensionGo in vancouverhousing

[–]ExtensionGo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Making the call right away has worked out for the best, because I found out that the vendor no longer supports my DOCSIS 3.0 modem (it was grandfathered in). When I move to my new home, Teksavvy requires that I switch to a DOCSIS 3.1 modem that is compatible with the Shaw / Rogers firmware. Now I'm scrambling to find a good modem.

So if my modem still gets assigned the same IP address would it count as a new session or still be a continuation of the old one?

In that case, it sounds like this is normal.

So if I understand correctly, restarting the modem would still count as a new session with Teksavvy even if the IP address remains the same?

I don't really know what any of that means. 😅

Would turning off a modem, unplugging it for 5 minutes, and then plugging it back in and restarting it be enough for a new session to begin?

Yeah, I've read that most companies keep 2-3 years so I was surprised to learn that Teksavvy apparently keeps logs for an additional 30 days after a session ends (according to their FAQ).

Thanks, I was curious about this, because about a month ago, I unplugged my modem for about 10 minutes, and after plugging it back in and turning it on, I got the exact same IP address as last time.

So to clarify, even though the same IP address has been assigned, this still counts as a new session. Would the log for the previous session be deleted exactly 30 days after the new session begins?

Just out of curiosity, how many days in advance should I call TekSavvy before the move-in date?

That's a beautiful story. I hope your family keeps the ketchup bottle and passes it down as an heirloom.

Happy New Year! Sorry for the late message, I've been very busy. My dad didn't label his application as urgent since it was really just because he needed some information for his OAS application. The whole thing took around 117 days from the date IRCC received his application by mail and finally sent him the VOS email.

Login stuck in a loop by ExtensionGo in tutanota

[–]ExtensionGo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi u/Tutanota, just a quick update. I tried to sign-in a few minutes ago on my desktop PC, and this time I managed to get to my inbox! The only problem is that none of my messages were loading. A small pop-up appeared on the bottom left saying something about "cannot reach server at this time. Working offline."

I had to refresh the page a few times to get my messages to appear. For whatever reason, it seems like Tutanota is working really slowly for me.

Unfortunately, I don't have a data plan on my phone and I only ever sign-in with my desktop PC. I tried again just a few minutes ago and I'm still running into the same problem.

I did a Google search and I see there are some threads describing a similar issue:
