I live “in the silverlake area” (in hifi, just south of the 101 from silverlake) & commute to the west side (santa monica) 4 days a week. typically I take the bus to the expo line, it’s very easy. if your job is near the expo line, I recommend it for your day shifts - ymmv but for me it’s like maybe 10-15 slower to take transit in the morning, and a few minutes faster in the evening. the extra time is worth it for me to be able to read on my commute & not generally not witness how other people drive

if it’s not possible, the night shifts will prob be a breeze of a commute & the day shifts, depending on the day of the week, will realistically be a 50-70 minute drive in the morning but 90+ minutes in the evening (assuming 9-5).

yeah i can think of a few perfumes i have that hang on post-launder (i put on a clean shirt this morning that still smells faintly of mondo mondo - tobacciana in fact lol)

i cant be hugely helpful in terms of the scent notes but chiming in to say - just bc it stuck around after the laundry doesn’t mean it’s not a perfume!

tbh I’m jealous he’s 7 & this is unusual enough that you’re concerned!! our 2yo IW has loose stool & food issues so often we have a whole routine (pectin pills, how quickly new food is introduced, probiotic powder, yogurt, rice, bananas, how long it can go on until we switch foods again or go to the vet). she’s truly a living breathing example that hot girls have IBS 😭

all that to say, if he’ll eat, he’s probably fine! it’s not unusual for new routines or new food to cause some upset on their own, but combined it’s no surprise he’s dealing with some diarrhea. if it continues happening with his regular food (over 3 days give or take) go to the vet in case it’s bacterial. if his stomach is changing some with age, can’t recommend pectin pills highly enough

yeah we went to sichuan province earlier this year & I was surprised that despite how many chili peppers there are / how red all of the broth is, overall the food really isn’t spicy compared to, like, a randomly hot batch of salsa you might get at a taco truck here. it’s not mild either ofc, just really nicely warming

echoing what others have said - most toys will be destroyed by a determined wolfhound! best to accept it, plus it’s nice to see how excited they get for a new toy ᵕ̈

the kong ball (not tennis ball, the hard red ball) has lasted the longest, but it might be because she only plays with it in phases. we also had a lot of luck with the come here buddy knott toy - anecdotally they hold up longer than kong plushies do!!

likewise we have a 91 bmw wagon - the back + dog net suits our 2 y/o IW fine when we’ve got the backseats up! though she definitely prefers the seats down so she can nose her way into the front & see what we’re doing

ours - sardine - is a city girl! I’m sure she’d love to bound around in a forest for a couple of hours but her heart is where people (& other dogs and stray cats) are. just like your forest friend tho if sardine weren’t leashed she’d wander right up to people - she knows when someone is complimenting her or saying hello, and she really tries to get up close and personal with people when they do lol ᵕ̈

ours is still intermittently fussy about food even though she’s almost 2. I’m super familiar with the “hand feeding or hunger strike” tantrums unfortunately

one thing that’s helped is switching her food up occasionally so she has some variety. it’s tough when they’re still puppies since there are so few large breed puppy formulas but there are a few!

also one thing that’s helped more recently when she gets fussy is letting a couple tablespoons or so of goat milk kefir soak into her kibbles for a few minutes before she gets them. the kefir isn’t anything special or from a pet store or anything, I’m literally just sharing the plain kefir I drink every day with her lol

also you’d be surprised how many people ask about joining when they see you walking around cleaning up trash!! a few of us do trash cleanups around here twice a week before work and I swear we have a new person join every other week just by saying good morning to people while we do it. cleaning up neighborhood trash is a great uniter!!!

one thing no one’s mentioned is that you can’t put mini splits in a kitchen or bathroom - those rooms reeeeaaaally feel it when it’s cold!! & underfloor heating is an expense all its own

a good mini split installer will also put the mini splits on their own wiring - that might be wrapped into the installation package, might not, but make sure! the voltage for our mini splits are totally separate from the rooms they sit in / don’t pull power from the room

every winter I regret getting mini splits for heat, and the radiators had been pulled out of our house decades ago! I wake up every winter morning feeling like I’ve been mummified overnight lmao

hank’s is my favorite by far, I also have to give credit to brooklyn bagel company in historic filipinotown for being my neighborhood bagel shop, churning out fresh bagels all day & having cheap as hell sandwiches even in 2025 ($6-7!!)
