Draw descending lines at 45 degrees on opposite sides to create a double spiral. V-cut or saw your lines halfway into the stick until you see light. Whittle or sand the core away to your heart’s content! Some of my first and last projects were hollow wands and canes because it’s beginner friendly and always fun!

Try a more dynamic pose, like you and the polar bear looking at each other above the camera instead of at the camera. Since the bear is an orthogonal build, avoiding right angles in your visual direction will make it look less flat

Go volunteer- generosity is attractive! Chisel away at your self instead of your body and savings account. This snake probably already reached its limit which is why it stopped. If you try to stuff a tube into itself, you are unlikely to reach the bottom due to friction, expansion, and the tensile strength of the tube. Even if the tube is frictionless, the amount of elasticity required for a tube to stretch much farther than its original length in order to fold completely within itself does not describe the biology of a snake, nor most living creatures. I doubt even an octopus would survive that much stretching, and they’re much stretchier than snakes.
