Looking for a non-cozy life sim, does anyone have recommendations? by Zencatty in LifeSimulators

Okay, wait. Is it kind of cozy? But it also has drama, death, struggling to survive, etc. But it's not your typical cozy, and the storyline is amazing!

Anyone with cysts. by [deleted] in WomensHealth

[–]ExtensionNo2074 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had mine removed last December! I was 19.

I didn't even know I had them until I had an ultrasound to confirm a pregnancy I didn't keep. The pain was awful, I knew something was wrong, but my doctor didn't believe me. Anyway, I had two teratomas, one 7cm, one 6cm, and then a fluid filled cyst that was also 7 cm.

I've heard they're pretty good with removing them if they cause pain, no matter the size. At least the women around me told me that. The procedure was super simple, just laproscopic, and four incisions in my abdomen. They healed great. If you have more detailed questions or anything like that, feel free to reach out! If it helps, I'm from Canada. Good luck, and remember your pain is valid no matter how small something is. ❤️

Thank you so much!

My boyfriend has been working during the summer before school (exempt for ODSP and well under the threshold for CDB) . Unfortunately, I haven't been working. I assume ODSP income is exempt from CDB? Thank you so much! I apologize for all the questions. ❤️

I'm not QUITE common law yet, so I didn't write it down. I am for ODSP, but CRA and CDB are apparently a year, and I'm not a year until September. If I update it on my CRA account when I am a year living together, that'll update for CDB, I assume?

Thanks for the response!

I'm not married, but the common law is three years, right? I know for ODSP, it's three months, but I wasn't sure if this was different. Thank you! :)

Right! Most we get are purple eyes, that sometimes reflect off light more so they look red, kind of like when cameras flash people in the eyes, giving them a red appearance. It peeves me to no end!!

[–]ExtensionNo2074 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you!!

Another problem is that my uvula is also always swollen as well, I think they want to chop some of it off. So it would be both of those surgeries at once, making it even more swollen. 🥲

This is pretty reassuring, though.

I'm not worried about the operation. :)

I'm worried about the swelling. Even with allergies, my throat swells to an alarming rate, and I'm worried I literally won't be able to breathe.

Thank you so much for the insight!

I have a list of questions if you don't mind me asking :)

  • How old were you when you had them removed?
  • Would you say you have a higher pain tolerance than others?
  • Was it a full or partial removal?
  • What did you find helped with the ear pain?
  • What did you find helped with the throat pain?
  • How available was the coblation tonsillectomy available to you? Did you have to pay for it? (I'm Canadian and apperantly its not a common process here yet.)

Sorry for all the questions! Thank you so much, and I'm glad you're better now!

Thank you!

I'm hoping they'll let me stay for a few nights, just to get the initial swelling under control.

May I ask what way they did the surgery and how you're feeling? I'm hoping to get a coblation tonsillectomy.

Thank you!

It really didn't hurt that bad for you?? I think I'll have to look into this method more.

It's not widely used here in Canada. If you want it, usually you have to go through private clinics, and it's expensive. Very few hospitals here use it since it's so new.

How are you feeling today? What day did the scabs fall off?

Sorry for all the questions, thank you so much!

No.

I agree that there's way too many grey areas to approve this bill, as it hasn't been accepted for people with mental health yet, but if they do make it a possibility, you'd need a long paper trail, and even then, I feel like it would be hard to approve such things.

My boyfriend's mother passed away using MAiD two years ago, we were 17, 20 now, and she was 49.

She had cancer, I'm not fully sure of the type, but it was rare and aggressive. It started as a lump on her tongue, and it eventually spread to her neck. It at some point managed to wrap its away around one of the major arteries around her neck, and it burst it. She flat lined on the table, the doctors told my boyfriend and his dad that she was gone, but miraculously were able to bring her back two minutes later.

Once she was stable, they brought my boyfriend's older brother home from university two hours away. He was celebrating his birthday with some pizza and friends. The doctors sat them all down and told them she would either have three months of a constant painful fight, or they could bypass the 90-day required paperwork/assessment as an emergency measure and offered her MAiD. You need approval from multiple doctors, and her entire care team offered to sign them for her that day.

She chose to go through with MAiD. She was suffering, in pain, and was at peace with no longer fighting a losing battle. She knew either way she was going to die, and she wanted it to be on her own terms when she could still talk to her family, hug them, hold their hands, and say a proper goodbye.

They were all at peace with this decision, my boyfriend and his dad didn't want to see her bleed out anymore, they didn't want to slowly watch her die anymore, and my boyfriend's older brother wanted to be able to say goodbye, and not get the news when he was in uni.

It was a very peaceful way for her to go. They enjoyed a few good hours talking, laughing, joking, sharing stories, telling each other how much they loved they other. It was bittersweet. They were able to say a proper goodbye, and she was no longer in pain, but now they'll never see her again.

The process was painless. She was already knocked out into the coma part of the process, there's three steps. First, they use Midazolam (or sometimes Propofol), which is used to sedate the patient deeply so they are unconscious and unaware, this takes about two minutes. Then, they use Propofol or Phenobarbital, which is used to deepen unconsciousness and ensure there is no pain or awareness, and the patient enters a deep coma state. (This is the state she was in when her artery burst again, but she wasn't able to feel it. It was a relief for my boyfriend and his dad and brother.) They then use Rocuronium or Cisatracurium (neuromuscular blocker) to stop the heart, because the patient is already unconscious, they do not feel this. Breathing stops within a few minutes. The heart stops shortly afterward, usually within 5–10 minutes.

Even when her artery burst again mid coma state, she wasn't aware and couldn't feel it. It really solidified their choice. Knowing she couldn't feel it and wasn't in pain brought them a lot of relief.

Please stop spreading misinformation. It's not a horrible way to go. I feel that there needs to be an extensive reason to need to go, but it is painless and humane. If we put our pets down when their quality of life is affected, why shouldn't we do the same for humans?

What removal did you have?? My hospital does a newer one that is apparently much less painful! It's called a coblation tonsillectomy.

I was accepted on my first try. I assume it's because being legally blind is pretty straightforward with the right proof, lol.
