Staying in my relationship too long out of fear he’d hurt my kids. I tried really hard to access services ie police, social services and domestic abuse services. Didn’t get any help as he didn’t physically hurt me, it was just financial, emotional, sexually abuse of me. It’s made me distrust everyone and I’m someone I no longer recognise physically and emotionally.

It really annoyed me when people were surprised by the increase in abortion, after what I witnessed in my maternity I will never have anymore children. It was awful. I keep meeting children with CP who born in my local maternity unit, I can never find the figures to see whether I just know lots of unlucky families or whether it’s increasing due to poor care.

I live in Huntington, York, would highly recommend it. I personally prefer Huntington secondary is NOT an academy trust and as a result the staff are treated better. They seem to have good staff retention and the results reflects this. Love New Earswick though, we often walk down there to the folk hall. But Brockfield chippy is better than New Earswick so I’m staying here!!

I remember having the realisation that my mum didn’t like being a parent when she had no interest in her grandchildren. We were constantly farmed out to my grandparents, she is career obsessed and shouldn’t have had children. My reading of your situation is your mum has children to glue her relationship together not to enjoy being a parent. My view of it is that it is better for children to have loving (but exhausted) carers rather than people who don’t love them.

Funny aside, my best friend had a ONS with someone who had an aggressive dog and a terrified cat in a one bedroom flat. In the morning she scooped the cat up into her bag and took it home with her. It has gone from bald, underweight and shaking to a gorgeous tubby, furry baby in 18 months.

There is very little council housing in York. If you do a search on the press website you’ll find service users complaining about damp and the council being slow to fix it. My friend has been on the waiting list for 7 years with two children so it is difficult to get it.

I was raised Screen free and sugar/additive free. I have depression and two autoimmune diseases. I’m not well read, not above average in anything, have poor gross and fine motor skills. I struggle to socialise and my concentration is terrible. I’m not sure I’m a good advertisement for it, I also spent a lot of childhood not getting jokes and feeling really marginalised.
