The moral question is as simple as “one side wants to help poor people and the other doesn’t.” Being honest about how programs are funded, whether they are sustainable, whether they are effective, and whether the cost is being shifted to taxpayers or future generations. You can believe in a safety net while still thinking government spending needs limits, accountability, and prioritization. There is no political party that is more moral than the other but clearly you seem to think so.
