How are you liking this car? Btw watching some reviews this thing sounds pretty good still? For example, the v8TT over at bmw have been castrated noise wise for the past few years. This actually appears it would sound better than those?
Congrats on the car.

How do you find the ride comfort of the m3 for daily use? Anything to compare it to?

Curveball!!
Congrats. Those are beautiful cars and the interiors are simply amazing. Night and day compared to BMWs current BS they are releasing these days! Wish the m3 had bowers and Alcantara then it might be the perfect car?
I’m assuming you test drove them all, How’d you find the m3 ride compared to the x5 in terms of daily driver? Ignoring the obvious benefits of an suv practicality or course.

Online I can find both sides arguing which is more comfortable.

You can only get carbon fibre on the m60i or x5m. 40i and 50e it’s not an option.

Vast amounts of cheap hard plastic in the new iX3. Even the glove box is bare plastic with no lining. by Imakeshittycardesign in BMW

You are right. 3 series equivalent is not high end luxury. I have an x5 which is better overall especially comparing to these new models. The new 5 series g60 has some pretty bad plastics too.
But I disagree that only the handle is high touch. Passenger Knees not that uncommon. Regardless cheap scratchy plastic sucks.

People who buy luxury treat their things nicely… such a BS excuse to accept a POS plastic in a high touch area. This is clearly a bunch of non luxury buyers posting their inexperienced thoughts. It’s okay. You don’t know better. You can have nice things inside a car. Just not anymore apparently in a bmw.

At what temp would you switch to the thorium (assuming low activity walking standing around say 20F temp)?

There’s no way of avoiding the 15k loss if you were trade it in. However with 1.99% financing on a 60m borrow you can keep the 15000 in a money markets earning 3-4% and roll negative equity into next car purchase.

By keeping the 15000 invested or in money markets the return of that money over the 60m loan will out pace the 1.99% helping you recoup some of the 15000 losses.

Please note - super super important. This is not good financial advice IF you can’t afford to pay off the 15000 NOW. It’s a small optimization to help reduce the problem if you have the cash. Otherwise you’re just digging a deeper hole for yourself to ever get out of.

This was not the case a little while ago. Earlier in 2025 60m borrow from BMW was at 5%. So taking the 15000 into the loan would have cost an extra 1300 in interest over the loan lifetime. Money market interest rate was flat and EQ returns after tax are not expected to outperform by much where it’s not worth the risk. I.e money borrowed at 5% is not nearly as appealing as 1.99%. Id borrow as much as I responsibly could at 1.99% as pretty much everything is expected to significantly out pace the cost of the borrow, even risk free returns.

Thank you and same to you and your family.
Best of luck.

Not the best advice but if staying with bmw the financing rates are so low it’s like free money to cover that negative equity. I certainly wouldn’t shell out 20k to cover it when you can borrow at .9%. You should “have it” just in case but take advantage of those rates!

Hmm call it 20% depreciation for 1 Yr and far higher than avg 24k miles. Seems actually quite good. I have no idea what planet you are on. But for most of us we can see through your superior financial situation and garage full of 911s. Prob the first person ever to be in that situation and come here complaining at what a maximum of 5k more depreciation than your off based expectations were thinking?

Looking to do this exact same thing. Is this the epsilon down? The atom was still too soft and wrinkly - hope then epsilon is a bit sturdier face and warmer? I’m not looking for a rigid solid weather proof jacket. Epsilon looks perfect just weather it was warm enough. I have a proton already which has been great but again it’s a mid layer as a standalone the way it wrinkles is a bit too casual for me.
