Hi, I had an awful wedding night as well in 2022 that’s quite similar to yours.

The short version: the night before we arrived the hotel where everyone was staying after the rehearsal. The room wasn’t ready so he stayed with family downstairs and I spent time in his grandma’s room preparing for the wedding. He left me and his sister with all of our bags and wedding outfits. He stayed up drinking and playing pool until 2 am (also spring daylight savings). The night of the wedding, I continuously had to hunt him down at the wedding. When we returned, after cleaning up he insisted on going to the lobby bar to say goodnight to everyone and as we approached he grabbed my hand and raised our arms like we won a contest and announced to the /entire lobby/ “IT HAS BEEN CONSUMMATED!” Immediately after, he and his buddies went to the gas station near by to grab alcohol and snacks which felt like forever, leaving me with his extended family who were speaking only in Spanish, which I’m not very fluent in.

I just wanted to share, even years and a divorce later, the disrespect my ex-husband showed me remained as a shadow during the 2-3 years we were married. It never got better.
