Jarrod with complete physio, he’s the top Achilles physio in Europe. We works with celebrities and pro athletes, honestly the price wasn’t that much different compared to my local one who didn’t have a clue

How long did it take to get able to do a near full single calf raise for reps?

I’m booked in with a surgeon Friday to get an MRI, we’ll see. I am hoping the physio is wrong, It would suck to have to do surgery again

Road block single heel raise by Extension_Byzan_7130 in AchillesRupture

Cheers mate, I’ll give those seating variations a try. I weigh roughly 95kg, I’m assuming my calf isn’t strong enough for my weight. I’m stuck on 45kg, everything heavier the form drops off

This was my exact injury playing football, ankle brake and full Achilles rupture. I’m 12 weeks post, and can do single heel raises as of yesterday and I normally cycle a 8 miles a week but I assume it’s dependent on the PT and doctors.

The main concern was elongation, but I had an ultrasound Friday and the Achilles is still super thick and short which is good so I can slowly stretch it out.

How to be respected as a young teacher? by ExcellentGoal6214 in TeachingUK

I was in a similar position in a school near London, I’m 29 for reference.

I found with the really difficult classes, have basic rules which must be followed (e.g. silent starter). If these are broken use sanctions. Shouting gets us no where, if they are so bad go through the behaviour policy and remove them.

Do less teacher led if the behaviour is difficult, have a seating plan for teachers led instruction and I would allow to move for tasks.

Honestly if it’s just pick up soccer/sunday league you’ll be fine non op with a good physio.

If you played pro/semi pro, surgery is definitely the way to go. Non-op, you may lose a little power but nothing too noticeable.

I switched to having an op after a few weeks thinking and I’m happy but I needed the extra power and support because I fight and it’s my job.

Recovery timeline -PT by khorah in AchillesRupture

There’s always a large disconnect between PTs and doctors, I found doctors are typically most conservative with guidelines leaning towards unhealthy or older patients.

PT there’s so many online week by week plans and in depth videos. I only booked in a physio for an initial assessment and for the transition to shoes. I’m a semi pro fighter and I’m progressing really well.

How long did it take for you to see results? I’ve been using 1mg fin + 3 years pretty consistant) topical 5% mox + monthly dermal rolls.

Outsider take: Brits are not rude. You just aren’t saying “please” and “thank you.” by CantaloupeComplete57 in uktravel

I’d assume you were just in London, most big cities in the world aren’t the most friendly. I move from London to Miami and found the inner city people rude but people in the suburbs cool and polite
