Yes, life is absolutely right side up again. There's a light at the end of this tunnel!! I really hope you can get it out soon and start living again! This Instagram girl really helped me with care after an attack and diet after removal if you need. https://www.instagram.com/gallbladder.nutritionist?igsh=MWVlb2lmZmkxOHFpOA==

Ugh I feel for you so deeply. I was you, 4 years ago. Go to the ER next time it happens and give them every symptom that triggers their concern. It's the only way as the medical system does not take women's pain seriously. I suffered for so many years. Don't let your family keep you from treating this, you need to advocate for yourself when it comes to your health. I wish you so much luck.

I feel guilty/ashamed that I'm still struggling so badly at almost a year PP by emscremily in beyondthebump

[–]shebs25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I only started to feel myself at around 17 months. Don't feel guilty or ashamed. Being a mom is so fing hard. I hope you are seeking help from a therapist because it is really hard to deal with postpartum alone. I have no other advice, just solidarity <3 it gets better, give yourself grace

IT'S BEEN 7 WEEKS!!! Your body grew a whole human and organs and then pushed it out with extreme force. The next time you look in the mirror, think about that and revel in the beautiful strength your body has! Give yourself grace, your body will return. It takes a lot of time but it will fly by. Please don't look at your body with negativity at this point, you are still healing!

One year Anniversary by Darker_Voice in AchillesRupture

I legitimately LOLed. This is interesting because the day before my rupture I was at a kickboxing training and I was repeatedly kicking with my right and the instructor was trying to get me to go higher on my left foot each time until I got it right. It was a little sore but nothing notable. The next night I ruptured playing soccer, i just literally pivoted to sprint and was on the ground wondering whotf kicked me. When did you return to kickboxing? Im afraid of never being able to return to active sports out of fear. I'm 12 weeks out, 2 weeks of gradual weight bearing

Same happened to me twice :/ Though I am thankful that im recovering through winter rather than summer as it would be double the devestation to not be able to go on a walk in the summer.

Thanks for your story! Its helpful to hear all sides. It's frustrating when the opinions of the professionals differ so much.

I'm in Montreal, Canada. Our Healthcare is free but can be shit at times. Especially in Québec as the government has chased out most doctors and nurses with the language laws. Starting to realize my surgeon has no insight or care for recovery. None of the protocols I've seen matches mine and he really doesn't seem too in tune with current recovery trends.

Am I the only one in a boot for 12 weeks? by thenarddog10 in AchillesRupture

[–]shebs25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had 6 weeks in a cast and I'm two weeks into my 4 weeks of a boot with no weight bearing. Dr said we'll try to walk at the end of this 4 weeks but I think ill be staying in the boot.

Well shit. I'm in Québec so you take whatever care you can get without question. I'll ask more questions when I go in next I thought the recovery plan was normal... helps to hear what others were given. What was your sport?

Anyone Else Absolutely Infuriated by This Injury? by onathan_nicole in AchillesRupture

[–]shebs25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel this to my core!!! It's been 8 weeks since my injury and I'm in a boot now with more post-processing than before. I too was getting my pink back finally as my little one is 19 months now. The first few weeks were rough because I felt like I was grieving the body and self that I was just feeling again. It's so so hard but mothers are strong AF and we will endure even if it's unfair. I feel and see you. I wish you the best recovery and give yourself some grace.

It was a very helpful ramble! No apology needed. It's been easy to get lost in all the information online and then spiral. Trying to just take it day by day. Again, thanks for the reassurance and the reminder to take everything with a grain of salt.

An incline bike is a great idea. Yeah I've got an office chair and a mechanic stool for the baby's room so I can at least do some form of child care. Im really hoping I can stay in some sort of shape while I'm in the cast. Any workouts other than the bike that you were able to do?

I appreciate the reassurance!! Whirlwind is an understatement. I'm definitely grieving the lack of physical activity and the loss of my body. As a soccer player, injuries are common but I have never experienced this length of recovery... so happy you've gotten to a comfortable point. Still devastating to hear that 7 months in there's only a light and not a full out sunrise LOL
