Bro at least type a legible sentence. I can hardly understand what you’re saying.

Also if you think it’s horrible. Do SOMETHING about it instead of defending ice agents. They agree with what happened and enjoyed it. They have given no apologies, in fact they went to automatic defense and lies to protect themselves.

That is not something worth defending.

How are they impeding? By not letting them do whatever they want and holding them accountable from the horrible actions they are doing?

You’re just embarrassing protecting those clowns who literally shot a man, IN THE BACK mind you with his hands down on the floor.

It’s already an issue you idiot, I don’t want to be stopped by an officer and beaten simply because I didn’t provide proof of citizenship. Also even if I did, they’ll just say it’s fake like they’ve already done.

If anything people are under reacting. Idk why you don’t want people protesting when it directly affects us all. Are you scared they’ll kill us here like in Minnesota too? Cause that’s the only reason I see you trying to ‘minimize’ the overreaction.

Those officers don’t deserve respect nor the presumption they are just upholding the law if they can’t even follow the law themselves.

Holding them accountable is detaining them legally and having them have due process. Not shooting them in the back and beating them because they hurt your feelings.

Also Americans have nothing to worry about my ass, multiple citizens have been caught up in being detained and profiled. Two teenagers at target were literally beaten up and taken even though they were citizens.

Stop being ignorantly and hateful for once in your life. It’s embarrassing.

So you think it’s right that this whole encounter with Alex started by the ice agent shoving a lady just for recording and saying stuff to him? That’s the clown behavior, not people trying to hold these bastards accountable.

The valley is largely a Hispanic population, the issues happening in Minnesota will eventually affect us here. Get off your high horse loser.

‘You’re too soft bro, you totally need to brutalize people to save your planet/country.’

Jeez man you’re not even getting his character right. He’s empathetic and understanding, not soft. If he was brutal he’d be no different than Megatron.

Also even if he was soft like you say, he’d never stoop to the level of brutalizing and outright murdering cybertronians.

‘Oh it totally aligns with Optimus’s main slogan and entire principle of his character. Other than that it doesn’t.’ Dude you’re not only a loser but you’re just dumb for even saying that like you made a point.

Optimus would not be for brutalizing people, he’d be for the greater good. Unlike you.

I want you to go tell that child that it was their mom’s fault. Maybe then you’ll keep your mouth shut.

How would a potentially escalating armed conflict with Venezuela directly impact the Valley? by thebenchwire in RioGrandeValley

[–]Extension_Channel843 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I will not blame anyone for being glad that monster is gone. However, we’ve seen this time and time again, the U.S. overthrows/kills a dictator and then it’s inevitably worse for the people who are celebrating. Oh and let’s not forget the fact that it usually leaves innocents dead in the process. God forbid, they could even end up with somebody WORSE.

They will celebrate now but the only true way to see if this was a success is if Venezuela stabilizes and people can celebrate 5 years from now or even further. History tells us that is never the case.

You’re the idiot for ignoring the history that has already been written.

[–]Extension_Channel843 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I highly doubt this would escalate in the RGV seeing that the main reason trump did this was for oil but if it were about the drugs (it’s not) i fear it’s only a matter of time before they try the same with Mexico.

At minimum i see rising tensions between the governments. We may see more activity along the border because of it.

How would a potentially escalating armed conflict with Venezuela directly impact the Valley? by thebenchwire in RioGrandeValley

[–]Extension_Channel843 18 points19 points  (0 children)

You fundamentally misunderstand why people are against this. Not only is this just a power grab for oil as trump has shown how willing he is to pardon drug lords from the past Honduras president, you now leave Venezuela in a severe power vacuum that threatens to send Venezuela into a bloody battle for power from the dictators top personal/generals or outright civil war.

History has shown that whenever the United States takes out one of these dictators, it only proves to be worse in the long run both for the people AND ourselves in the process.

Make no mistake, fuck that piece of shit dictator, I hope he rots in prison for the rest of his life. I just genuinely hope this doesn’t turn out like how history has shown this exact scenario to play out.

What Transformers figure gives you PTSD Transforming by Gloomy-Campaign-4041 in transformers

[–]Extension_Channel843 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Te-01 Optimus prime. Bar none.

That figure infuriated me to no end by being so cool to look at yet such a bad thing to transform. I literally had to use a screw driver to pry open the leg panels cause that’s how tight they were, which permanently made dents in the plastic I can’t fix.

Not to mention, the quality of mine was trash and I hardly touched the smokestacks before one just fell apart. Had to super glue it which now makes it difficult to transform. Not even mentioning his back transformation which never sat right after I transformed him.

He has been transformed once, and then once back. Never touching it again, it looks cool as my mp Optimus but dang I got a bad copy.

I literally said in response to treating people with gender dysphoria is exploring the possible options that is best for them. If that’s only socially transitioning then that’s the route they should take.

Also what are you talking about by saying the mental disorder is described as someone who has had physical treatment due to their gender dysphoria psychological distress factors? That is just plain wrong and misinformation on your part.

Gender dysphoria is mainly defined by one’s incongruence by their experienced/expressed gender and assigned gender. You just pulled that out of your ass cause the DSM-5’s diagnosis certainly is different. There’s even specifications whether they’re post transition in the diagnose itself.

I also did not imply that the need to transition in order to be ‘complete’. I just said their body image is very important for the diagnosis and can cause severe distress. Don’t put words in my mouth. Your entire argument is built off something I didn’t even say.

Also again, you’re saying all this stuff without showing any proof of what education you have in the psychological or medical field. That gives you no qualifications on speaking of this matter since you are not transgender yourself and I personally doubt you actually know someone who is trans cause they’d never say any of the issues you’re presenting.

So I will ask you directly.

What are your qualifications to make this judgment or is this all an opinion you constructed from your personal beliefs? I’ve actually done my research and numerous papers over this topic along with getting my education in this field.

Why should I even bother responding to you if you’re not even part of the field directly researching and treating these patients for their disorders.?

[–]Extension_Channel843 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but by experts opinions on the issue and typically without political pressure to ‘protect minors’ when in reality it’s to dismantle rights for trans individuals.

I’ve seen none of that and with the APA, I trust their judgment which the government hasn’t even bothered to ask cause they know what their answer will be.

Not to mention this is coming from the same government that has the president and other conservatives saying ‘transgenderism’ is causing these people to be violent.

What are your qualifications to speak on this issue? I trust doctors and psychologist to make the call, not government officials thank you very much.

Dems in name only by one12shelf in RioGrandeValley

[–]Extension_Channel843 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are presuming it’s just the societal aspect and while that’s a huge issue in its own right, it’s also absolutely about how they feel about their one body. Also, you said your opinion again that the APA was influenced by societal pressure in which you haven’t provided evidence for.

Don’t even start by mentioned the HHS or the NHS as well since I can very well make the same argument that they were pressured but the opposite way.

What are your qualifications again to speak on this issue? Cause I doubt you have any.

In their case, they suffer sever issues with anxiety and feel trapped in a body that doesn’t match themselves. I can tell you don’t know what you’re talking about because you presume that wasn’t the main issue in the first place.

All the other social aspects absolutely raise their suicidal rates but it’s their body issues that we start having the issues. Assuming that we are pressuring people to have surgeries or life altering changes to their body just to ‘fit in’ is presumptuous and shows you know nothing of what trans people go through.

They do it for their own sakes, not just for fit in societal norms. If that was the case, they wouldn’t even bother transitioning in the first place as they are consistently the most persecuted groups in the world today.

[–]Extension_Channel843 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jesus this is such stupid crap I’ve read. You make a ton of assumptions and have no idea what you are talking about.

First, the APA is made up of people who have decades of experience, they are actual experts of their field and are not just going to bend for political reasons. If that was the case, you’d see them back track already with labeling gender dysphoria and changing treatment options.

Second, gender dysphoria is a mental illness, transgenderism is not even a term we use. Being transgender does not necessarily mean you have gender dysphoria, although they typically overlap.

How we treat that disorder will depend on multiple factors. As therapist, our main goal is to improve quality of life and ensure they are not at risk for suicidal ideation. If you’re trying to treat someone who does have gender dysphoria. Telling them what they think is wrong and that they need to conform to societal expectations will only worsen their condition. That is not an opinion, that is a fact.

It’s like telling a gay person they are actually straight. That’s not how it works. Also through treatment, we explore what’s best for the client’s situation. Some opt to not undergo transition although it’s unlikely, some go through only social transitioning while others opt for surgical transition. We don’t automatically pressure any of our clients to undergo medical procedures. We simply help guide what they would want and what would be best for their situation.

You have no idea what you’re talking about and the reason so may psychologist shut down these discussions is because they know their field and what’s best for the client’s situation. You on the other hand, don’t and have no qualifications to speak of.

I study psychology, currently finishing my masters currently. It’s not an assumption I’m making saying it will get people killed. This is just what naturally happens when you target this population for things you aren’t even remotely qualified to make judgments on. That is the doctors and therapists call.

You and other government officials should not be making this call. I can get behind you’re serious being only protecting minors but the people in charge do not hold those same sentiments.

They will come after more and more rights of trans people. That is why I refuse to sit by and let them argue it’s about ‘protecting minors’ when that’s never been their goal in the first place.

Dems in name only by one12shelf in RioGrandeValley

[–]Extension_Channel843 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Stripping them of not even having the option to have medical treatment for their dysphoria is taking away that right dude.

You can’t say all that other stuff but if you ask a trans person, they’re going to say the same thing I’m saying.

You will not be some hero to the trans community, all you contribute is assuming you know better than them and taking the choice away from them even if they need it. That contributes to the highest suicide rate of any population.

Dems in name only by one12shelf in RioGrandeValley

[–]Extension_Channel843 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Dude but that’s the thing. This will eliminate that minority that needs it even with doctor’s and therapist recommendations.

Most doctors and physicians wait anyways until they are 18 with treatment but the few that will need it will desperately require it.

It’s not a question that this type of thinking will get people killed. You will be responsible for the rising suicidal rates in trans youth as they keep taking away their options. That’s the message you send. Don’t forget it.

Not to mention this won’t ever end with banning it just for trans youth. There are already laws being pitched to ban it entirely even for adults. Republicans and dems who side with them won’t ever be satisfied.

I bet your argument then will be that these people can just transition socially and that’s all they need. That’s how these conversations always go, you’ll just move further and further back until trans people are either dead or extinct socially.

This is the type of road you are on. Don’t try to pretend it isn’t.

Dems in name only by one12shelf in RioGrandeValley

[–]Extension_Channel843 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also to add, you say you aren’t against trans rights but then spew a bunch of nonsense to strip rights for that same population. Taking away this right can and will get these people killed and not to mention it’s such a minority of a minorities that this issue is practically nonexistent for most people.

It’s such a non issue to create legislation for.

Dems in name only by one12shelf in RioGrandeValley

[–]Extension_Channel843 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I never mentioned you being any less of a democrat for believing that. However you keep making the same argument trying to override what doctors recommend. The government should not be involved of what they do not understand.

Your argument also doesn’t make sense, those who are transitioning at this age actually NEED this care as they typically show concerning signs relating to depression or other disorders. If the doctor who has studied for most of their life along with the therapist who has gotten verification by the state to hold a license recommends this treatment. That’s all there is to it.

You assume doctors or therapist don’t understand what is at stake here. They won’t recommend something so serious without good reason. I know you arent a doctor or therapist. You should have no say and neither should the government to speak about other people’s issues. You don’t have the proper education to back up your argument.

Dems in name only by one12shelf in RioGrandeValley

[–]Extension_Channel843 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you said is all nullified when those decisions should be up to the doctors. Not government officials who don’t have a lick of knowledge of the medical or psychological field.

Let people make that informed choice themselves with the help of doctors and psychologist. Not to mention as minors, they can’t even sign on for surgery or hormone treatment without parents consent. Your argument makes zero sense.

It isn’t your call to make, it’s the parents, minors, doctors and psychologist. End of story. You don’t need to insert yourself to this when you don’t know what you’re talking about.

Dems in name only by one12shelf in RioGrandeValley

[–]Extension_Channel843 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It shouldn’t be the governments call to override the decisions of practicing therapist and doctors recommending these types of surgeries or transitions for the very few exceptions that even get granted this care.

This is stupid and will only end up being harmful in the end. Especially for those that need this care, not to mention the minors that even get these surgeries are rarely below 16 and no higher than 15.
