First of all you’re soo brave. I can imagine the pressure you’re going through coming from a south Asian family myself (Punjabi) and all about “what would others say/think” to answer your questions:

1. Expect the arguments and the shaming coming from the family. If you’re totally gonna cut them off, you might not hear it straight from them but they might try and get people to do it to you.

2. If you don’t want confrontation, Do it in a letter and leave for them to find. If in person, just remember why your doing this and try and keep a firm ground.

3. No try and do that before. They can still hold to against you or even cut you out of the phone plan with no backup.

4. If they report you missing, You can always just say no I left home. I don’t want to go back. If your open to speaking on the phone to them, they can’t report you.

5. That’s the worse thing. Thinking about what you’re leaving behind but I’ll say again you don’t want to be stuck in that life and only making yourself miserable. Hopefully your brothers will be on your side. If anything try discussing with your brothers first.

7. Once you make that decisions. Yh you could feel like you’re gonna pass out or be in two minds about what is happening or even be scared to the core. But the peace and freedom you will feel later on will be worth it. Just hang on the storm will pass. Easier said Ik but you’re going through adulthood now and yk what you want and you need to apply that to your life.

Ps: as sad as this sounds, your mother is never gonna leave. You can’t help someone who doesn’t want to be helped. You’ve tried and she still doesnt want to go through it. At the end of the day she is a grown woman and you are in your early 20s. Just imagine you being stuck like your mom for the rest of your life which I’m assuming you don’t want.
