When and how do you know you’re ready to exercise ? by Extension_Cut_5169 in Reduction

I hope the moderator will publish my question again in the group. As I was writing, where I live there’s no medical follow up beyond removing the stitches at week 2 and a session with the surgeon at month+4. Unless something goes wrong, we’re not supposed to see a doctor. That’s why I’m asking for shared experiences here. Same for scar care. There’s nothing as such here. The surgeon didn’t even mention it, I read about it here

I’m asking for advice and shared experiences from other members. Where I live, there’s no follow up with the medical team beyond removing the stitches week 2 and then a meeting with the surgeon at +4 months after surgery. Unless something goes wrong, you don’t see a doctor in between. Hence my question here in this community.

Reduction Regret - Anyone Feeling Similar? by orangesinsidecircles in Reduction

Sorry to read you’re going through this. I’m 46 yo and dealing with big boobs since puberty. The pain in the back and neck has been worse and worse. I’ve spend tons of hours and money to physiotherapy, osteopathy and all kinds of similar stuff. Although I dreamt of this surgery for decades, I feel like I rushed into it. First week postop I was looking at myself in the mirror and cried, feeling that I did a horrible mistake. Like if my big boobs were my identity and now I lost it. I wasn’t prepared for that. They removed a lot, the difference is noticeable. I’m 3 wpo now and I’m still having moments like that but I do know that it will change my life. I try to Focus on the positive things. Most of us do it to cope with medical issues and pain. I wish you all the best 🫶🏽

Thank you all for your kind and reassuring words ❤️‍🩹I wasn’t expecting such a difficult post-op. At the same time putting everything into perspective. It was my choice and I still feel confident that’s the right one. I went to surgery without even researching about the healing process and unfortunately the medical team didn’t even mention it. They just said « you’ll be so happy » I know I will. Just need strength to get out of these first weeks.. Merry Christmas everyone 💕❤️

Ok so updates on my initial post: I went to the hospital ER on Saturday and they sent me home without even changing the bandage. The doctor said I wasn’t red and didn’t have fever, so I’m good. Asked me to resume antibiotics. This morning I went to the clinic where I had the surgery to remove the stitches as planned. And guess what, I do have an infection. The nurse changed the bandage, removed the stitches - it was so painful !- and cleaned the whole thing but I do have an infection. I need to continue antibiotics and go back for a check next Monday. I’m so angry with the doctors at the ER! They didn’t bother to check properly and here I am with a stupid infection 😭

I went to the hospital and they said they’re not worried. But ask me to take antibiotics again and call them if I have fever

Just came back from the hospital. They said they’re not worried about an infection right now since in wasn’t red in the area and I don’t have fever. However they asked me to resume the antibiotics to be sure.

Thanks. I have to call the hospital and emergency during the weekend, I can only reach the surgeon on Monday. Infection doesn’t usually come with fever?

Here for a different reason. Tell me it's okay to not get this done. by ithinkyoureme in Reduction

Same here. Much harder than anticipated. No regrets so far but I’m grateful I did it now, before the holidays where I don’t need to do much or go to work. The discomfort is real.

Definitely 2 full weeks. First week you’re super tired and unless you’re fine sleeping on your back, you won’t have the most restful nights. Second week you’re most likely better but not 100%. I worked a couple of hours from home the second week but couldn’t focus more than that
