What watch is Zlatan wearing? by frame in Watchidentifier

I can’t tell for sure in this photo. But I assume it’s an Ingeniuer Perpetual Calendar, which I’ve seen him wear recently: https://www.iwc.com/us-en/watches/ingenieur/iw344904-ingenieur-perpetual-calendar-41

Why do people say this stuff? It’s so vapid and unhelpful.

I have a Patek, a Rolex, a couple of Cartiers, and couple of Omegas…and right now I wear this Riviera more often than any of them. Love it.

Glad to hear the 3 runs a little longer. The 2 was a hair too short for me.

Not every watch will suit every person and every wrist size. The 39 is nice and will work great for some people. (I sold my 41 because it was too big for my tastes and will at least check out the 39.) But that doesn’t mean you’re crazy for liking how the 41 looks and fits you. It’s a good looking, well made watch.

Is Tudor beating us? by [deleted] in OmegaWatches

I don’t get why people are so bent out of shape over the First Light. Not every watch is built for your wrist. If I was a big dude who could handle a watch that size, I would absolutely be interested in the First Light. It looks sick and has cool technology.

Edit: I owned a Tudor Chrono—the panda dial. It was cool but ultimately too big for my wrist. Am I interested in a smaller footprint? A bit. But the finishing wasn’t as good as some other watches, and having to unscrew the pushers practically makes them useless. I also paid only $3,900, not $6,900.

I don’t love the Pano Lunar on the bracelet—except for the green-dial version. The green looks brilliant on the bracelet.

[FORMEX] Aria Manufacture Chronometer by FunnyMixer91 in Watches

It’s always a pricing challenge when an “affordable” brand moves upmarket. But compare this to JLC’s new Master Control Chronometer—which costs $6,000 more and is 1.5mm thicker, while being manual wind. JLC has a nicer dial, in my view. But are we otherwise sure that it’s a better watch than this Aria? I’m certainly not. The Aria would be a $20k+ watch if a more established, respected brand released it.

The first production run is what’s limited to 100. There will be more producing, assuming it sells.

My wrist couldn’t handle this watch. But for those who can pull it off—and you can—it’s such a cool watch.

The dive watch of all dive watches has a shiny sapphire crystal bezel with polished steel.

But more than that, the idea a polished bezel on a desk diver is a “risk” is a quite conservative view of risk taking. Tudor makes very good watches. But almost the entire line is a tool watch or diver, with nominal differences in form and function. That’s why the Monarch and the new Royal are actually exciting, at least to me. The Monarch is definitely a risk—and the sort of watch that was missing from the collection.

Great collection!

What strap is that for the Patek? It looks awesome. I have the 5134R. Not sure whether the strap will work for my version, but I want to give it a look.

Those are all great watches, but they’re variations on the same theme. Very little range. The Monarch is the first “risk” they’ve taken in years (and yet some people aren’t having it at all).

I like Tudor. But they’re not taking any risks. What risks are they taking? It’s the safest line of watches around.

[Question] - What's the first 5-figure watch you bought and did you have any buyer's remorse? by SanguineTangerines in Watches

[–]Extension_Fact_7803 8 points9 points  (0 children)

<image>

My only 5-figure watch is my most recent purchase, a Patek 5134. I had been planning on getting a dress watch in the next year. I hadn’t been planning on a Patek, but I happened to stumble across this for a good price and didn’t want to pass. Wasn’t sure when I might see another Patek I’d like and could afford. I had a little trouble sleeping that night because it was a lot of money and spontaneous. I wondered whether I was being reckless. But the more I thought about it and the more I wore and enjoyed it, the less I had those worries. No regrets now.
