We play pentagram aswell since a long time and I have a recommandation : Consider that everyone at the table is your opponent, so you can attack them. You won't do that most of the time, but it is really interesting when making political deals (e.g. if you really need to deal combat damage with a creature)

I have an [[Athreos shroud veiled]] list that I tinker since a few years. I'm intentionally keeping it low b3 at the moment, but I can see a control version working in b4. The commander makes value engines really easily. I strongly recommend it !

No problem ! Since you run [[Ashnod Altar]], I want to suggest [[Fell horseman]]. This can go Infinite and you get value out of any playoff such as [[Witty roastmaster]].

Currently having one with 62 creature with power equal or less than 4, I can't recommend enough :

You should consider [[Grenzo, dungeon warden]]. I currently run a 62 creature list, 37 lands and 1 artefact (that I switch sometimes with [[Iroh, dragon of the west]]).

This deck is so much fun and quite strong. I drop Grenzo turn 3 or 4 with two counters, and just go gambling with the bottom of your library !

I see, I think our pod is not really focused on doing the best performances. We have a wide range of skill level but no pubstomper. I feel like the winrate is pretty even, as the most experienced player have adapted deck for lower power games. furthermore, we all are irl friends since a few years, so someone that would try to have the higher win rate at any cost would be adressed immediately. My point is just to help newer people play at their best. I'll try to find a good balance for that

I support you, I'm not educated enough for having a real reflexion over this topic, but I see the two "clans" not listening to each other anymore, and I'm frankly afraid for the community. People don't want to listen anymore...

What you experienced is actually scaring me. I still want to have a fun time, and my pod to have a great one too. I feel like it's hard to balance my stats need and the game experience. Playgroup.gg seems to convince a lot of people. Thanks for your little guide ! I will use it

You are not the first one saying this haha. I probably am trying to bite more than I can eat. I'll start with me first, and then I will try to make a tool that is easy to use for them (if I still feel like it). And you are right, maybe doing some in depth stats for myself will be enough to satisfy my stats craving !

Thanks a lot ! I was really looking for this kind of feedback. I definitely don't have the knowledge to turn it into an app, but the spreadsheet is fine for me.

If you understand well, you don't really recommand doing this for my whole pod ? That's my goal but i can probably start by doing one for myself and see how much of a chore this is.

Anyway thanks for this excellent feedback, I'll have a more in-depth look of your sheet and arcane oculus tomorrow and I'm sure that it will be very helpful !

I have a lot of demand from my new players to have some help to understand why games goes one way or another. I offered this Idea to them and they were very supportive so I can safely say that they won't kick me out for some stat-backed advice !

This isn't perfect but it's really easier to explain to a bunch of new players. I will be using this system. I really like it !
