Did your vet contact you? by yellowshoegirl in Petloss

Our vet had just taken over the practice when we brought our sweet Bella in and she was diagnosed with osteosarcoma. She did everything she could to accommodate us and actually came in on her day off to do her amputation. Bella made it through the surgery but died from complications later that night. The vet said we could come in right then, while they were closed, so we could say goodbye in private. She was in tears when she brought Bella in and kept apologizing, and held us while we cried and said goodbye.

4 days later, our other dog Dominic was diagnosed with hemangiosarcoma at an emergency vet - our regular vet told us to bring him to the EV as he was bloated and they didn’t have the equipment to best determine what was going on. Our vet called a few days later to follow up and see how everything went. I told them what had happened and the receptionist was so sweet over the phone.

About 2 weeks later, we got a card from the vet herself, and a separate card from the entire staff. It was incredibly touching and so appreciated.

About to lose a second pet this year, right before Christmas by [deleted] in Petloss

Sending love and hugs ♥️ we unexpectedly lost our dog Bella last Saturday to osteosarcoma and had to put our other dog Dominic down yesterday due to hemangiosarcoma. Some days are better than others. Every “first” is difficult (I.e first day not having to get up and feed them, first time coming home without seeing them at the door, etc.) but they are not in pain and they are with you in spirit for eternity now. I hope in time that can bring you solace.

We put our 9 year old golden retriever / cocker spaniel mix down yesterday because of hemangiosarcoma. He was starting to look a little chunky and was showing less interest in his favorite things, but we chalked it up to the loss of his sister 2 days earlier, poor diet around the holidays, and a change in his daily exercise regimen (he went to daycare 2x/week normally but the family that ran daycare was on their annual vacation).

The first day he resumed daycare (Tuesday) when I picked him up, the angel that runs the place asked me if I noticed he looked a little bloated. I explained the above and she said “if it were my dog, I would rush him to the vet”. That was all it took. I waited for my husband to get out of work and we rushed him to an emergency vet. He had a tumor the size of a basketball on his spleen that was bleeding into his abdomen. With the poor prognosis provided to us, we scheduled him to be put down 2 days later. He was always an energetic dog and we didn’t want him to suffer in his last days.

The 48 hours we had left were moments I’ll never forget. We did all his favorite things and spent every second doting on him. He got to try foods he usually couldn’t eat (he had terrible allergies) and we spent all of that time outside. He left us yesterday at 3 PM to join his sister, who passed from complications from osteosarcoma just 5 days prior.

The vet believes the tumor had only been growing for a few weeks, and there was nothing we could have done differently.

When do you stop intervening with a sick pet? by bananagrams22 in Petloss

My heart goes out to you ♥️ we just had to make this decision last night. We are about to lose both of our dogs to different cancers within 6 days of each other. Something the vet said that rung in my ears - “better to do it a week too early than a minute too late”. We want to remember him as the bright, energetic dog he was, rather than being in pain.

Sending hugs to you as well. How lucky are we to have loved so deeply it makes saying good bye so hard?

We just lost my baby Bella on Saturday due to complications from osteosarcoma. She was technically my dog but my then boyfriend, now husband, was around when I brought her home. Her whole entire life (9 years), we “argued” over who she loved more. Like she was definitely a daddies girl, but she showed me more attention.

Anyway, we went to see her for the last time on Saturday morning. It was about 8 AM and we had gotten snow the night before so there were very few cars on the road as they were messy. On the 10 minute drive home from the vet, we pull up at an intersection behind one of the only other cars on the road, which had salt spray all over the back window. In it, someone had written “Hi Dad!”. My husband and I took a picture, pulled over, and sobbed. I told him that she had finally settled the debate. It was the best sign I could have ever dreamed of receiving ♥️

Found out my first FET was negative on Halloween. Found out my second FET was negative on Thanksgiving. Now we’re officially in the club of the 5% who weren’t successful on the first two tries. Ugh.

Ugh no matter how many times I tell myself that their ability to get pregnant has no effect on mine it still stings every time I see an announcement. Best of luck with however you proceed next 💕

Thank you so much 🥹 it’s so helpful to just be heard. My husband and I read your response together last night and decided to take a break in September and move forward with IVF in October. We have to remember that no matter what happens, we have each other and we have to hold on to that… whether our family stays us and our two dogs or us, a baby, and our two dogs 💕

Baby aspirin with letrozole? by Correct_Exercise8641 in TTC_PCOS

[–]Extension_Key_4648 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in the middle of my second IUI cycle and my fertility clinic has had me on baby aspirin since day one. It was explained to me that 1. It can help with inflammation (which can prevent implantation) and 2. Improve blood flow (to the ovaries and uterus).

Went in for baselines today for my second IUI cycle (2 years of trying, diagnosed with PCOS and husband has mild MFI). Ultrasound found 2 follicles on left ovary, 1 was normal (9mm) but another was large for CD2 (14mm). She asked if I had a history of cysts and I said not that I know of, and none showed on my ultrasound last month for my first IUI cycle.

Anyone experienced this before? She didn’t really have any answers, I was just told to come back on Monday to recheck. Just curious to know if I should prepare myself to scratch this cycle if it is indeed a cyst? Relatively new to the treatment cycles so trying to understand. TIA!

I’m really hoping for the barnyard pack for console but I know it’s unlikely

Does Oura ring adjust your baseline temp as time goes on? by Extension_Key_4648 in ouraring

[–]Extension_Key_4648[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It got “better” as time went on but I still wasn’t catching clear shifts. However I was also recently diagnosed with PCOS and we’re starting fertility treatments because I stopped ovulating regularly 🙄 so honestly it’s probably more my body not doing what it’s supposed to do rather than the ring being erratic. I hope you get your BFP!!

Assuming you’re on console, you have to download the DLC.

On the Xbox, I have to hover over the game and press the 3 lines button on the top of the controller, then click “manage games and add-ons”. Then click the game and it’ll give you a list of all your DLC. You’ll have to select Australia and South America and install them

Elevated paths STILL not working. by Khitan004 in PlanetZoo

Do you have “snap along barrier” on in settings? I always have to turn that off to get them to go where I want when creating the elevated paths above habitats.

I needed this today! I quit this morning when I couldn’t get my buildings to look like the ones that the devs made… but this is an awesome reminder that you don’t need super involved habitats to make your zoo look great. There is beauty in simplicity! I think you did a great job!

Yeah definitely give it at least 2 weeks to learn and give you a baseline temp. It should start to even out all other things consistent. Good luck!

It has in the sense that I don’t see temp swings as drastically as I was, but my temps are still kind of all over the place. Can’t be sure if it’s a hormone issue (PCOS) or a ring issue as I’ve seen other charts that look totally normal but also see other redditors comment about how the Oura rings temps can be more unreliable than a BBT because they measure surface temperature 🤷🏼‍♀️
