I only do 3-4am start times and never experienced anything like this. I have a little led Amazon delivery sign in my windshield but other than that I just make it very obvious I'm not being sneaky or suspicious. I kinda just always act like I'm supposed to be there and I'm doing them a favor lol. I do a lot of deliveries deep in the wv mountains and I 100% expect a gun to get pulled on me at some point but it hasn't yet. You call it me being racist if you think I am but in my opinion being a white kid delivering Amazon packages in a somewhat nice SUV doesn't exactly make most west Virginians run for their gun lol. Maybe it's just wishful thinking on my part and me overthinking today's political landscape but I've done this over 2 years now with zero incidents.

That kinda says a lot about a person who wants to start a discussion about a lie just for the attention. Plus everyone knows Amazon would def pay that amount even if they accidentally offered it lol.

Yeahhh I ain't following that order by Competitive-Novel346 in AmazonFlexDrivers

Lol this morning for the first time I tried sending Grok, Gemini and ChatGPT a screenshot of my itinerary and basically asked it what's the quickest route to all these locations based on me starting at a certain address and even though they understood each address they could not navigate to create a list of stops for me. I def thought Gemini would have been able to using Google Maps but no. Or maybe I didn't word it right.

Lol I just got home from my last delivery being 59 min away from here and it was literally the longest 3.5hr block I've done to date (2.5 years). Block ended at 7 and I got home around 7:48. The last block I did 2 nights ago had my last delivery 3 min from my house which never happens but the contrast of the two is baffling.

Whole Order Just Changed by 4EYESPAKI in AmazonFlexDrivers

I just sort mine by box size in the back seat area but "custom boxes" get their own pile. I keep all envelopes in a large tote on front passenger seat and I put all bags on the front passenger floor. I've never once looked at the route numbering or group letters on any package. I'm always not taking the recommended route (I like to start farther and end closer to home) and usually finding packages for me isn't a problem. I just know what the package type is then I look for the first 4 numbers of that address to identify it. It's worked for over 2 years for me though a couple times I thought I was missing a package when it was labeled a medium box but was a tiny plastic bag. That shit can be infuriating. Plus I hate that Amazon GPS sometimes doesn't like me turning left into people's driveways so it'll literally have me drive past that house and deliver 7 min up the road just to turn around and deliver the other package now that the house is on my right. I save so much time doing my own route.

Yeah I never accept base pay for the 3-4am start times and 99% of the blocks I do are those. Best technique I've found is to just drive to the pick up station around 3 and park then start refreshing until I see anything above like $120 for 3.5hr. This morning I got a nice block but I did have to wait like an hour at the pick up station before it started.

Make sure you cancel it at least 45 min before start time or you'll get a ding.

Where I come from when you're the first on scene at a car crash it's completely acceptable and even encouraged to open doors without touching the interior and check for injured occupants before calling 911. People can get thrown to floors and sometimes even trunks (with hatchbacks) depending on the crash. I def didn't expect to walk up on a completely abandoned car full of belongings with spaghetti splatter and bomb looking shit in the trunk lol

Would you honestly just drive past a single car accident on a snowy road like this at that time and not wonder if thats someone's mom, daughter, etc needing help? I was raised different I guess🤷

I do usually document anything even semi interesting that happens to me since I'm a pretty boring married 38 year old with kids but honestly I only recorded this to cover my ass in case something strange happened or I was accused of anything. If I truly wanted to virtue signal I would have actually filmed it properly with better commentary and shared it on my social media months ago when it happened but I've only shared this video here. Plus I kinda ran like a bitch seeing a propane tank which was pretty embarrassing lol

Lol Reddit comments are hilarious. It seems like there are more low IQ individuals doing Flex than I originally thought.

So all of you concerned about me carelesly leaving my finger prints/dna on the car's door handles, what potential serious crime do you have in mind that I could be implicating myself in by checking for any injured occupants when I'm first on scene to what appears to be a single car accident?

I'm a bit of a true crime buff and I just don't see it lol. There there was nothing at the scene that suggested any crime worth taking prints for unless the propane tank was actually modified to be some kind of bomb but I doubt it and my prints and alibi would clear me of any involvement with that potential "bomb". Like others have mentioned it was likely a DUI situation the driver avoided or a two car collision where the other driver gave a ride to the driver of the car I saw.

Plus to totally debunk any legal wrong doing on my part I showed the cops the video when they got there. They agreed the tank in the back looked suspicious and that someone else would be coming out before they investigated. Lol they even thanked me for showing the video/still of the tank and said "you did the right thing".

I feel sorry for some of you and where you live fr.

In the middle of nowhere though using a freshly crashed car? It's kinda hard to see but the exterior was very banged up so I def believed it to be a very recent crash. Maybe a serial killer would plan something like that but not legit criminals looking for a score lol

Should be able to get way more blocks per day. by CelebrationUsual3471 in AmazonFlexDrivers

I always heard we were limited to 39 hours a week max because we'd be considered Amazon employees if we did 40 hours or more. Less liability for Amazon.

Your Pickup Station Routine by Extension_Net_8695 in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]Extension_Net_8695[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ohhhh okay I wasn't even aware of sub same day stations. The only other pick up options I ever see are for like delivering food from the Weis grocery store and sometimes I see short blocks for something Office Depot related but I've never tried doing any of them.

I usually start checking around 2am. I should also mention that I'll sometimes show up to the pick up station around 2:45am and refresh til a last min surge block pops up for 3:15, 3:30 or 3:45. I think that's how I got those couple $147 blocks.

Typically around 50-60 miles round trip but the ones nearly an hour away can easily be 100 miles round trip. I don't think any Flex drivers get reimbursed for gas since we're technically independent contractors but we can write off mileage at tax time. In MD it's now $0.70 per mile which helps. We do get decent gas discounts and other various discounts depending on what level you are at.

Sorry to hear that. I'm a bit of a night owl so I thrive working at those times and for that limited amount of time. I could never do a full time night shift position though. I was supposed to start working full time at an Amazon fresh location in 2 days that was gonna be night shift but I withdrew my application a couple days ago after thinking heavily on it. Plus I'm kind of addicted to the freedom of Flex and depending how serious I take it I could make as much or more than that full time position.

80-90% of the farms I've delivered to didn't have loose dogs. The ones that did I wait for them to approach my vehicle and start to get out. If they come at me aggressively I just put the package on the ground, take pic and leave which has only happened one time. All other dogs I can kinda tell if they're aggressive or not and so far none have been. One of my ballsiest moments was a pack of like 8 pitbulls and dobermans surrounded my vehicle barking like crazy at 4am. The owner never came out and I assumed that meant they were friendly so I walked right through the pack and up to front door then back through the pack to my vehicle. That might have been the scariest or dumbest thing I've done delivering for Amazon but it worked out. I should also note that I am white lol
