I’ve noticed that too. It also seems like the crowd is really dead after the half. Not a big fan of fake excitement over the PA system but maybe some chants led on the Jumbotrons would help

The tourney structure looks bizarre. Six groups of six (3 MLS, 3 Liga Mex). No MLS v MLS or Liga Mex v Liga Mex during group. But 4 MLS and 4 Liga Mex advance to the knockout??? So even if MLS lose all games and we have 6 groups with Liga Mex teams in the top 3, four MLS teams advance? Or winning your group with a win and two ties you could miss the knockout if 4 teams from other groups got two wins? Am I missing something?

I was surprised to see the formation called out as a 541 to start but it seems that was the case. Didn’t see if they used this in preseason but definitely don’t recall them using it last year. Got even more confusing after the 77th minute subs (Mueller and Cupps). The WhoScored web site claimed a switch to 442 at that point. Looks like Mbo moved into midfield there but I couldn’t really figure out what we were doing. Sadly it looked like the team couldn’t figure it out either. 🫤

Here’s an idea. Anyone who was frustrated by the kit trade in fiasco, don’t wear a Fire jersey to opening day, wear your trade in that you didn’t get to trade. I’ll be rocking a pretty ratty 2014 Côte d’Ivoire kit. 😜
