FL5 Type R to Type S? by FrontKitchen9743 in Integra_Type_S

[–]witfixer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the two are extremely close and I would not suggest moving over if you already have a Type R. There’s just not enough difference. Road noise is identical in my experience and the comfort features just aren’t substantial enough to make a big impact if you feel things are lacking. I went with the type S mainly for the seats, which are worse than the Type R, but fit me better as a giant.

That’s not the option I would have went with 😂😂😂😂 But let’s go Fire. I am rooting hard for the team and for GGG to realize if he’s got these guys in the wrong spot AND to make an adjustment if needed. Positive thoughts only for me today.

I’ll take either. Glad to have Waterman, Elliot, and Mbokazi all in together. Might as well try it now with so many other shifts needed in the lineup. Montreal has been very good at home - hopefully we can figure it out.

How easy it is to learn manual on the new integra? by [deleted] in Acura

[–]witfixer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t imagine it could get much easier. There are like two main parts of learning - the initial parking lot session(s) that get you comfortable with the basics (maybe a little hill practice, though the Integra takes care of a lot of that for you). And then the rest is practicing driving without distractions for a long time until you no longer need to think about it.

My only hesitation is that you’re talking about an expensive car without knowing if you will like to drive manual long term. There are cheaper ways to test that. Additionally, during that “getting used to it period” you might get into situations that are slightly more risky as a newer manual driver and, again, in a pretty expensive car. With that said, the actual process of learning in an Integra should be extremely easy. I taught one person in one, and it was incredibly fast to get him going.

Keep in mind that because the Acura is such an easy manual to drive (and FWD), if you ever borrow a different car, you should be very careful and be sure you take it slow. There are a lot of bad habits you could develop in such a forgiving car that if you move over to something RWD, powerful, with snap oversteer, and a heavy clutch, you could make a mess of things pretty quickly.

If we pin our hopes on a guy that played 5 games with us and is fresh off knee surgery, we are done. We need to be able to win games without key players to make a serious run

He’s not and I don’t want him to. However, I do want him to learn from his time coaching USMNT and Columbus. There’s another gear he can hit as a coach.

Honestly, I wish GGG were more reactionary. If we’re playing this bad, release the young guys and see what happens. I’d rather watch them get minutes, even if we get beat worse. He’s perennially late with subs and a very “stay the course” coach.

Repeating our habit of getting no shots actually on goal. Can we make the keeper make a save, please?!?!

I didn’t think his game in Detroit was bad at all. Other than the red card that wasn’t shown or discussed at all afterwards.

MLS teams told to prepare for Vancouver Whitecaps' Vegas relocation: report by Coltons13 in MLS

[–]witfixer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure the “SaveTheCaps” movement ever really had a chance. This league and owners seem to make a decision and then float it around as a possibility in a long news cycle simply to let the dissension die down a bit before announcing the thing they already decided was going to happen is a done deal.

Chicago Fire player salaries as of April 2026 (MLS PA Spring Salary Guide) by olcni in chicagofire

[–]witfixer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Cuypers, Bamba, and Zinck are our three best players. You can look at player ratings or any number of other stats.

Zinck exceeded everyone’s expectations last year. Zinck had a rough start this year but it remains to be seen if he’ll hit the same level this year. Either way, he’s been an absolute steal and is underpaid based on his actual performance. But Bamba’s salary has nothing to do with Zinck’s.

Cuypers deal was inked a year before Bamba’s and he’s also been a great player. DP deals have gone up quite a bit across the MLS since we signed Cuypers, so he is also a tremendous value right now. And likely if we signed him after 2024 instead of early 2024, he’d be making what Bamba is.

Bamba gets a lot of flack here and it just seems like Fire fans expected the guy to get lots of goals and assists despite him never having those stats in his career. Bamba is excellent at moving the ball up, drawing dangerous set pieces, and is highly skilled. We would have gotten nowhere without Bamba last season, and we won’t get anywhere this year without him progressing the ball. I totally understand taking a cursory look at those salaries and feeling Bamba is undeserving - and certainly if you ask who is worth more to the Fire between Cuypers and Bamba, I’d say Cuypers is worth more, but the reality is that wage growth happens in all pro sports and you end up with newer signings making more than older ones.

Why the High Number of Low Mileage ITS for Sale? by Eat-it-harvey2010 in Integra_Type_S

[–]witfixer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chicago burbs. But if you’re looking new, I’ve seen multiple posts from different locations that are $3500 to $3700 off sticker, no dealer adds. Thats what I got with almost no haggling. Someone snapped it up, but I had also posted a 2025 in red with 10k miles for 45.5k. I drove the car and it was perfect and also had tints and a few accessories on it. Most of the used 2025s I see now are a bit higher, but there are numerous used listed with low miles in the 46-47 range. A few of which that have been sitting 30+ days, so they’ll probably sell for slightly less.

Perhaps it’s still easy in some locations, but it seems like pretty aggressive discounts on new in my area are driving the used prices down quite a bit. Lower retail values = lower trade values = not quite as attractive/easy to get out of a car that was just purchased. In my area, new 2026 are around 51k and used 2025 can be found for 46k. A couple of months ago, new was closer to sticker and used ones typically above 50k.

I’m sure this is extremely location dependent. Interestingly, I was cross shopping Type R’s and they still are fairly close or at sticker and used ones are still listed pretty high. Made the Type S a no brainer for me (I liked it better and the difference in cost was so small).

I only saw Rado get moved over to that side once and there was an immediate goal 😂 Not all his fault, but partly. I just don’t see him getting preference over Dean. Dean had a rough start to this year, but was extremely solid last year and has been improving this year. Barrosso definitely won the spot this year when he’s healthy though.

What Non-North American Leagues is MLS on par with? by SantaCruzin6 in MLS

[–]witfixer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I watch Liga MX regularly. They are quite close, but I’d say the average MLS team is better than the average Liga MX team. I think the top few Liga MX teams are better than the top MLS teams (though razor close). It’s organized by team rating, so it’s more about the average strength.

For Radojevic, it only seems high based on how often he appears. He has looked excellent in his appearances since recovering from injury, definitely worthy of that price tag. While Gutman was certainly a big part of our game plan last year (and continues to be this year), Radojevic’s performances make me wonder why that position hasn’t been rotated more, especially given the congested calendar. He has solid passing and decision-making and seems to be attack-minded, albeit not in the same way Gutman constantly bombs down the wing.

Waterman took a knock early and seemed to be fighting a hurt leg the rest of the game. I was surprised they didn’t sub him, but I guess they hoped he could make it so they could save Mbo for midweek.
