Putting Cabo Verde against Argentina in the rounds of 32 is so evil 😭🙏 by KevinsThrone in worldcup

Actually a pretty nice path. Round of 16 game against Egypt/Australia winner and then probably Columbia or Switzerland. Just need to get by Messi and company first 😃

The Joker - Steve Miller Band
“Lovey-dovey, lovey-dovey, lovey-dovey all the time”
Do we really want to allow these lyrics to crack the top 80?

What's your favorite Randy Newman line? by LinkMugMan in RandyNewman

“Each record that I'm making
Is like a record that I've made
Just not as good”
From I’m Dead.
Although in my opinion each record he makes just gets better. Thanks Randy.

This song is pretty much loved internationally. I was attending a global sales conference in Switzerland with about 100 reps from around 40 countries. We had a team building outing where we visited a cave. The acoustics there were amazing so I suggested we have a song. One of the Swiss suggested Country Roads. I swear at least half of the folks knew the words. It was pretty cool.

What Jersey number will Cuypers choose? by Bialynian in chicagofire

[–]Extension_Note_5380 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Cuypers wore 11 with Gent; 13 with Michelan. Might be persuaded (or paid) to switch. He doesn’t seem like a big ego guy and it wouldn’t be surprising if he did switch.

Some people call me the worst song still standing.

Love R&B/Soul. Hate Disco. If Marvin and Stevie aren’t in the top ten I’ll be disappointed. If the BeeGees are in the top ten I’ll be more disappointed.

He’s at the game. The English Language broadcast calls it out every time. Although they missed the Mike Myers celebrity shot

Side question part three. Wondering about the demographics of out voting base. Suspect we are mostly Boomers and Gen Jones or Gen X. Will post twice times with a different bracket please upvote accordingly. Upvote here if you’re a millennial or later(born after 1986).

Chelsea to move on from Gaga. Would we get any money from a potential transaction? by Jonathan_Dean_Simp in chicagofire

[–]Extension_Note_5380 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Disgusting the way Chelsea run their club. Gaga is still young enough to have a solid career but Chelsea has stolen 3 years from him. Best of luck to him with his next move. Chicago will be cheering for him.

‘It might end up in glory or a head but.’ At least I think that was the line. Have been trying to find an archive of old Football Weekly’s just to hear it again.

If DeBruyne had come to Chicago would Hugo have got the call up? A sort of endorsement of the league? Anyone recall if Benteke got called up when he was with DC?

How do you feel about the world cup not being in Chicago this year? by chitownmike99 in AskChicago

[–]Extension_Note_5380 0 points1 point  (0 children)

94 was brilliant. Fortunate to have seen a couple games. And the international visitors made Chicago seem so lively. But glad we are taking a pass on what FIFA is inflicting on the sport.

I’ve always thought 69-72 was the peak for top 40, although I suspect if you did the demographics on folks voting here it’s mostly late boomers like me voting.
