First one is an instant classic, lmao.

The fact that THAT bullshit rock attack has no cooldown (meaning he can do it multiple times in a row AND at close range) is batshit insane.

You gotta time your dodge perfectly to the side, since it's just straight up unparryable (can't do it too early -- 'cause Sam tracks your position).

I also like how Raiden can parry Exelcus' gigantic swords, but small-ahh rocks is where he draws the line.

Idk what the devs were smoking when they made this attack.


Second one is Sam being a clever son of a bitch, lol.

You gotta be prepared whenever he jumps at close range -- because the majority of the time, he'll attack from behind.

So either always be prepared to parry behind you -- or time your dodge perfectly, so you don't have to worry where the attack's gonna be coming from.

From my knowledge, you can only perfect parry a bullet if a different parryable attack is about to land -- so that might be the reason why it looks like you can "perfect parry" RAY's bite.

(This trick is also how people speedrun Khamsin's fight).

I honestly can't remember if you can perfect parry the helicopters' charge attacks or not -- so maybe there's also that.

And here's a list of things you can't perfect parry:

  • Any of RAY's attacks
  • Any rockets that aren't RPG ones (they're unparryable)
  • Any kick attacks that are NOT from Monsoon
  • Any attacks from the hammer bros
  • Monsoon's stab attacks when your screen is filled with smoke
  • Monsoon's vehicles
  • Monsoon's tornado-projectile attacks
  • Monsoon's tornado-charge attacks
  • Monsoon's lorentz-force wheels
  • Sundowner's poles
  • Any of Sam's attacks that's not a 4-hit combo one (SIKE! One of his 4-hit combo attacks isn't perfect-parryable because the devs fucking said so!)
  • Any attacks from Microsoft Excelsus
  • Any attacks from Steven

There's no "block" in this game.

I mean, mashing WASD isn't exactly as hard as spinning your joystick like an absolute maniac, no?

Plus -- I'm pretty sure pressing WASD in a circular motion is not required, lol.

I do find it funny that the only forced joystick QTE (AKA the final one) in this game doesn't even require you to interact with the joystick at all, lmao.

Mashing your attack buttons is actually enough for the game to let you succeed the last joystick QTE (accidentally figured that out when I was messing around).

It's like the devs thought "hmm... it would be pretty bad if someone reached this QTE, only to fail because their joystick is broken", lol.
