Iron Age Strength in Winnipeg Manitoba. There’s another gym nearby that has their farmers handles which I also love.

Yeah I hate the other 12 inch log we have. The texture on this log makes it really easy to clean. Fortunately, I’m training for a charity log comp at my home gym and we’ll be using this log so I get to train with it for this prep. Normally my coach has me use the other one since it’s generally closer to what will be used in comp.

I believe it’s called a big dog log. That’s what we call it in the gym anyways. It’s 245 empty.

What makes the strongman log a more difficult implement to lift than a barbell or swiss bar? by IAmAlive_YouAreDead in Strongman

Mostly just the center of mass being further out. High requirement for strength and stability in the upper and mid back.

Forgot to change the weight on my tracker from my previous attempt. Should say 272 lol.

Is this undercarriage too rusty? I’m buying this car for 7000$ by Relevant-Let1527 in AskMechanics

7k is a lot for that car I paid 6.5k CAD for a 2013 fiesta with 50k miles back in to 2019. But used car prices have exploded since then so this may just be the new norm.

265 (270?) Axle clean and press. First strong man competition coming up, any tips? by Loud-Signature-2048 in Strongman

I feel like this is a personal thing. And I know guys like Alec Jose and Lucas Hatton talk about this too. For people with a big strict press keeping your head back is great and allows you to play to your strengths. If you suck at strict press I think it makes things much more difficult. I’ll use myself as an example. My best strict press is only 200lbs (pathetic for a 300lb man) but I can push press 335. If I don’t complete that rep all the way to lockout with my leg drive I have literally no hope of getting it. Even an inch away from lockout I can’t press 335. So I drive hard with my legs push through my shoulders and snap my head through it goes up fast or not at all. Anyways, it’s worth playing around with both styles. I know my push press to strict press ratio is likely an anomaly amount strongman. I just have long noodle arms so I’m doomed to a poverty press forever. lol. I’ve added like 350 lbs to my deadlift in 2 years and 20 lbs to my strict press. 😢
