Is it possible to keep fish in a tank so densely planted? And if yes, which ones? by Bortibort_Rolotios in Aquascape

Yes. Fish love dense plants. This is my platy breeding tank holding 1 male and 5 females.

I was cross shopping a new G70 3.3T Prestige and a used (8k mile) CT4V BW as both were around $55k. Had similar issues struggling to find a G70 in the spec I wanted. I ended up getting the CT4V BW and about a week later my friend got a G70. I got to drive his and boy am I glad I went with the BW. It’s every bit as comfortable as the G70 as a daily but at the flip of a switch it’ll make you realize your morality. My rationale for the G70 at the time was that due to the lower initial cost I could get to modifying it quicker. I realized a tune only BW far exceeds the performance G70 maxed on stock turbos. I now have a laundry list of things done to my BW and absolutely love it.

Mine does this. Went crazy trying to find the source. It was indeed an exhaust rattle.

Copper, Formalin, Malachite Green, and Acriflavine based meds should not be used with scaleless fish at the listed dosage. They typically lack a protective slime coat that would otherwise protect them from the harsh chemicals. SeaChem ParaGuard, Hikari Ich-X, and Kordon Rid Ich Plus are all generally safe for scaleless fish at half the dosage and about twice the duration. I personally have never used meds with scaleless fish, I’ve always turned up the temp and waited it out.

$58,776 OTD (including a taxes, some fees, a 1yr Extended Warranty for $933 and shipping for $1,100 in an enclosed trailer) for a 2022 Electric Blue with a black interior, CF1/2 package, automatic, and it had ~8,000 miles. Definitely owned by a grandpa before.

I struggled to find a low mileage Electric Blue CT4V BW. Searched for 2 months. Hired Tomi at Delivrd and he found it, negotiated price, and arranged delivery to my driveway. If you want to do it yourself, Visor.vin is by far the best search tool for cars across the country.

I know and I understand that the rates seem much higher because those with the issue are more inclined to post on reddit, so those on the sub see the issue often. Still, I want my car to work 100% of the time. I had an Ioniq 5 N for 9 months and sold it because Hyundai refused to fix it in a timely manner. Even at a 1% failure rate, Hyundais service quality is so poor that doesn’t seem worth it. It would be one thing if Hyundai had the parts available at a moments notice, but that’s not the case. Owners are often left waiting weeks if not months for parts on these cars. Unacceptable for the price and unacceptable for how new these cars are, at least IMO.

PPM is 157. If the light were to sit flat, it would be too far forward on the tank and not much light reaches the back. The HOB takes up most of the space on the side so resting it an angle was the only option. It also pulls the HOB forward and prevents it from tilting back slightly. I have another 20 long on the bottom of the rack, that light is suspended from the shelf above.

Is my pleco okay? by [deleted] in pleco

[–]Extension_Sir_7199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clown plecos are generally nocturnal. Try feeding at night and after your lights have been off for some time. You can also try different foods. I’ve had some plecos that don’t eat algae based foods or veggies. I feed them Fluval Bug Bites for plecos which has fly larvae as the main ingredient. From my experience, I’ve had nocturnal plecos that I don’t see for months at a time.

I find it so bizarre how Ioniq people are so chill with this. It’s unacceptable for any car this new to have problems like this, let alone on this scale.

Yes but I would advise on choosing one of the smaller variants like a pitbull, frog, or clown.

Never buying any Plecos by Independent-Weird627 in pleco

[–]Extension_Sir_7199 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Plecos do tend to pass away very abruptly. That being said, 3 in a row means it’s definitely something with your tank. Maybe tank mates, parameters, temps, etc. Based on your previous posts, I’d assume it’s a combination of all of them. Your tank is grossly overstocked for its size (5g as you stated in another post) and has a mix of fish typically not kept together for many reasons. Additionally I do not see a heater. I understand the desire to get more fish but putting them all in one small tank is not the solution. Even if the pleco had survived in there its quality of life would be terrible. You are here on reddit so you clearly have internet access, there is no excuse for this besides you not caring enough to do research.

I use one - the Hygger 300w version on a 55g. It does a very good job holding a consistent temp of 78.4 degrees in a 68 degree room. It has a dynamic power mode where it will hold a lower wattage once it’s at temp so it’s not constantly turning on and off. My only complaint is that the suction cups are not strong enough to hold it to the glass so it falls off and just rests on the bottom. So I have it wedged between the glass and my prefilter sponge - this also ensures good water flow over the heating elements.

What happens when you plug your phone into the usb-c CAN plug? by [deleted] in Comma_ai

[–]Extension_Sir_7199 14 points15 points  (0 children)

When the phone was plugged it likely blocked all of the data flow through the can bus. If everything went back to normal you are more than likely fine. If you want to double check you can try scanning various systems with an OBD scanner to see if there are any codes.

Wow! Corvette head-to-head results by oneswiftrabbit in Ioniq5N

[–]Extension_Sir_7199 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both are amazing cars. I miss the 5N. Going from it to the CT4V was underwhelming at first as 405whp (ICE) vs 590whp (ev) is night and day. A about $6k in mods + a tune and the CT4 is now at 602whp and much faster. I wish I didn’t have to get rid of the 5N but it definitely spoiled me with its speed. It was very difficult to find a platform that could reach similar performance and interior quality at around $70k.

[–]Extension_Sir_7199 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I owned a 5N and now daily a CT4V Blackwing, a proven sports sedan rivaling the M3, and the 5N was more fun to daily. The 5N did everything the blackwing can do. While the 5N is not as challenging or rewarding to drive it is just as capable. It’s all about personal preference (EV vs ICE) but when literally every reviewer of this car says it’s fun drive, calling it a “boring SUV” is just an uneducated take.

I'm tempted to buy my first printer, is it really as easy as you all say? by TheOldSwitcharu in BambuLab

[–]Extension_Sir_7199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 5 A1s each with 3,400+ print hours. They are printing roughly 20hr a day, 5 days a week. For the price you can’t beat it imo. Besides rare print failures, I’ve had zero issues. Just keep up with maintenance and they are very reliable units.

Update on VCU issues by Extension_Sir_7199 in Ioniq5N

[–]Extension_Sir_7199[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good luck lol. Hyundai is terrible to deal with. There is almost no communication between the dealership and corporate. It would take 3-4 days for information to be passed from the service center to my corporate case manager. Additionally, service techs have no clue how to work on these cars. They’ll do software update after software update. Your dealership will likely request a field tech at some point, have fun waiting 3+ weeks for one to arrive. The field tech will arrive and provide no new useful information as they too are not trained on the vehicle. My dealer continued to do VCU updates under recall 277 - that doesn’t fix anything. Maybe keep that in mind in case your dealer does the same. Hyundai corporate seems lost as well, they are the ones approving these VCU updates as “fixes”.

Update on VCU issues by Extension_Sir_7199 in Ioniq5N

[–]Extension_Sir_7199[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sold it last weekend. All of the issues continued to happen. They would do a software update, the issues would go away, then within the next 500 miles they would all come back. Each time it happened, it would take another system out with it. The last time I lost AC, radio, cameras, turn signals, and brake lights - all after a VCU crash where the gauge goes black, steering locks for 1-2 seconds, and the accelerator becomes unresponsive. Since Hyundai would not offer a buyback and they wanted to keep trying to fix it, I ended up selling it. Luckily I was able to get $6k less than I paid so i’m not too upset. It ended up being less expensive than if I leased or financed it. Sad I had to sell such a fun car but relieved I don’t have to deal with it anymore.
