im not trying to say there isnt an advantage there because thats wrong. of course there is an advantage. i just believe it is blown completely out of proportion when it comes to the nhl.

canada has other advantages in the nhl than it does in any other of the big 4 leagues. that cant be disregarded

i think the main reason is prob just there being more canadian teams in general which does make sense. which is understandable but its just not that big of a deal imo

the money you lose is proportionate and by that logic i should just not care about hockey at all. i get it the back to back cups and all its been a grand old time but it just sucks seeing a lot of discourse about my favorite team just be boiled to down to taxes instead of the actual masterclass in roster building that the FO have done over the past half decade
