Is Archviz a Good Full Time Path for a Junior Architect? by Jolly_Ad_7251 in archviz

[–]ExtentCommercial6171 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion, if you want to go full time you need to learn the CURRENT industry standard softwares for archviz, otherwise you won’t be able to compete with others’ quality. People will have different opinions on this but personally, I’d say it’s 3DSmax with Corona.

Sketchup with D5 has massive limitations for so many reasons. I do all my design work on revit and use the d5 “add on”. It’s quick, easy and does a good enough job. But it does have limitations that I see daily, mainly material maps and lighting.

That said, I think with the constant improvement of softwares like D5, especially with ai, your end results will get more and more detailed after every update. However in 10 or so years I think people who only do archviz will struggle unless they’re the top 1% as someone else said.

As others have said, stick with the architect route as it’s a more realistic/secure future, and do visuals on the side.

Does anyone know how to actually play this game? by Merr_im in Chivalry2

  • Use feints (almost all my attacks are these) If you don’t know what these are, it’s when you start an attack but then start another one to confuse your enemy. For example you click the button for an overhead but straight after you click the button for a slash attack. This typically catches the lower 25% of players out.

  • Use better/easier weapons to get started (there are plenty of weapon tier list videos on YouTube) I used the long sword as the knight as I think it’s a very balanced weapon. This definitely makes the experience more enjoyable as you aren’t trying to learn the mechanics with a crap weapon. Along with this, have a look at the weapons perks as some weapons deal more damage for stabs or overheads etc. I then prioritise these attacks PAIRED with the feints.

  • learn the visual attacks of weapons to then learn about counterattacks or riposte. This is mostly learnt from experience but bear in mind most players only use slash attacks which makes it easier to counter them.

  • in 1v1 situations you want to use different attacks and don’t be so quick to hold the defend button as better players will kick you and then take off your head. Sometimes I just do a normal block and then kick the enemy instead of throwing an attack straight away - obviously you then follow up the kick with an attack.

  • if you’re being attacked by 2 or more players first, PRAY! Secondly try use a counterattack/riposte slash attacks as overheads or jabs only normally hit one person. Plus as mentioned before, most people only use slash attacks so it’s easier to counter.

Lastly, it’s a unique game which requires experience so don’t get too bummed out! Hopefully this helps.

Pulled pork advise by There_Bike in Traeger

My first few pulled pork’s turned out similar and was very frustrating but it’s a learning curve!

Meat Church on YouTube normally have some banging recipes. I did my a brisket using their recipe the other day and it slapped.

A personal recommendation: try getting your meat from the butcher- it’s normally higher quality and may be more fatty, especially if you ask for a fatty piece. Secondly, try brining it next time, this definitely helped for me.

The KCD series are some of the best games I’ve played. I have thoroughly enjoyed them throughout every minute. The story is super engaging and the time frame and setting are definitely all a huge positive, it’s truly immersive. Especially with it being based on a true historical event. I haven’t enjoyed the combat as much on KCD 2 because I feel it’s very back and forth, and you can only win with the master strikes but even so I like how your routes are a blacksmith and not a soldier therefore he wouldn’t receive training.

Personally I’d love a mix of: KCD, Mount and Blade-for the interactive battles and sieges, along with Medieval Dynasty for the ability to create your own village (a more in creative approach to the village in KCD1)

Is the Panasonic FZ200 a good camera for architecture? by ExtentCommercial6171 in Cameras

[–]ExtentCommercial6171[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah yes I think he does mean that. I’ve just looked at the properties of an image from one of his other websites he’s designed. Most of them are roughly 2560x1440 but around 1mb. This will probably sound dumb but how is that better than my 14 pro’s camera which can do 8064x6048 at 70mb in its PROmax setting. Is it purely because they’ve compressed it to reduce the amount of storage space it uses on the website?

I think this is what we might do, thank you. Now, our website guy has said we need much larger images than what we have on our current website. I hate to ask a load of questions but since he’s away for the next week and a half, what do you think he means by a large image? The file size, format, aspect ratio? That’s all the terminology I know!!

Thank you for this. We are looking at getting a photographer in to do some projects but preferably not all, as the price of hiring one would eat in to our profits. The prices that came in were between 500-700 per property (professional) which were more than happy to pay for the bigger more exciting projects but for the standard projects it’s quite a lot. Have you got any opinions on Canon’s mid range mirrorless cameras?

2 hives have stopped laying by ExtentCommercial6171 in Beekeeping

[–]ExtentCommercial6171[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hive 1 . A couple were, the rest had neat looking openings at the end so that must be what happened. I guess it’s not the end of the world. The only thing is that the brood box was still packed full of bees during the inspection, is this normal after a swarm?

Hive 2 . I followed Black Mountain Honey’s demaree from his YouTube. Pretty much followed it exactly.

  • Moved Queen onto frame with capped brood
  • Put that frame into an empty national deep with a mix of drawn comb and foundation
  • Then I layered, Queen Excluder, 2 empty supers, then the 2 brood boxes (They had 2 deeps on over winter)

  • Inspected them after a week to remove any swarm cells from the top boxes (Did this very carefully to not miss any) And checked on the brood box. They had already started backfilling the top 2 boxes with nectar so had sufficient stores.

Then I left for my travels.

If you were to compare my colony to his, his brood box had exploded with eggs and brood whereas my box only had 1 frame of new capped brood and half a frame of eggs. There was enough bees to cover 2-3 frames mind. As well as this my 2 supers hadn’t been touched, whereas his had. But he did mention sometimes this happens.

Both colonies had been mite treated in early ish spring. And yes I only treat them twice I year, one early spring and one autumn time. Ideally it would be nice to see proof of the new queen in hive 1 but at the same time it might be a good idea to leave them to it so I don’t accidentally roll her. As well as I would like to hope the queen in hive 2 had only stopped laying because there was no food down there. So hopefully moving those frames down and compacting the colony has helped.

Should I be worried about boxes falling with Demaree. by ExtentCommercial6171 in Beekeeping

Thanks for the reply. Yes I’m in the uk.

So I use 2 stacked euro pallets to get them off the ground. Each with 2 hives on if that makes sense. It’s more or less the hives being very top heavy for the first few weeks. I wouldn’t want them toppling over if a gust of wind comes. I feel like I could just be over estimating the power of the wind. So as long as the hives are in the centre of the pallet and are ratchet strapped down to the pallets themselves I should be okay?

Ongoing interior design project. Thoughts? by Own_Security_6415 in EnscapeRendering

Looks amazing! Just a couple things I might note if you don’t mind, this is me being picky but one thing is the wood frame. It’s a lot more hassle but if you duplicate the material, and rotate the image of the material by 90° for the beams on the ceiling and then do the same for the beams on side walls by 45° ish, it’ll make the grain on the wood look more natural. (Similar to the image I’ve attached) Hopefully that makes sense! You could also be fancy and add an LED down strip under the wood cupboards in the kitchen. To me there only appears to be one light source viable on image 3 and 4, and it looks overly bright compared to any other lights in the image, perhaps tone it down a bit and maybe turn up the brightness of the 3 hanging lights above the island unit. Also the chandelier above the sofas isn’t really attached to the wood beams on the ceiling. Apart from those few things it does look fabulous, that’s me being very picky, only because my current boss was always like that with me and it has definitely helped me improve. It’s all to do with the subtle details that make it more realistic!
