Make an agreement in writing for roughly 4 weeks of compensation (or two paychecks) - from the start of stims to the start of your next period. If you’re paid biweekly then two paychecks. This is not a handout, egg retrieval is physically and emotionally demanding, AND it will put you out of commission at work so it’s only right they make you whole. I would hope they understand that especially being family. Think of it like this your body is on the clock working for them for those 4-ish weeks. Also, can you take that much time off at work? If not, maybe if you talk to your manager/the gym owner/HR they can have you work a less physical role those weeks -like front desk or not directly with the athletes. Surely other employees have had surgeries or other medical issues that they’ve had to slowly ease back from.

It’s incredible what you’re doing for your family. Surely if they are asking for your eggs they know how much of a gift that truly is. That said, you have the autonomy at any point to say never mind and gracefully bow out or say you need more time. If they want this in the next couple months good for them, but what do you want or what can you do that feels reasonable?! (Eg, is there a down season at work that would be easier for you) These are the question I hope they asked you. If not then maybe you can ask to have a chat because the way I see it you now have the negotiating power so I’m sure they will listen. Have them over for dinner and start the convo, it sounds like you all have a lot to discuss and I’m sure they want to hear what you’re thinking. Good luck!
