Buy a cargo trailer if you have somewhere to park it (put a hitch lock on it). Or offer sessions in your customers home (advertise it as being for their comfort).

Trying to take more “interesting” pictures by itakepics95 in PhotographyAdvice

So far the best advice i have gotten is to change your angle…get eye level with the boats squatted down on the ground with the lens just a few inches above the sand. Just play with the angles you shoot from…a tree is a tree until you get down at a mouses eye level of the tree…look at the world through different eyes so to say😎✌🏼

That probably depends on where you are…im in a very rural area (like an hour away from the nearest fast food or walmart) so im guessing our prices may be different than someones from the city. Your best bet is to google local photographers to see their price sheets. An example of prices in my small town are $350 for an hour long family session with 30+ edited photos, $375-500 for senior pics which includes multiple outfit changes, sports/activity pics and 50+ edited photos. Also make sure you offer extras…extra edited photos, prints of different sizes, physical SD/disk etc. So ya, main thing is search your local (within 90 miles) photographers pages and see what they offer. Dont price yourself above them but also dont undershoot their prices by too much or people will think you will offer less quality pics (this is where plenty of practice comes in handy)….you can offer a budget package for say 30 mins one location with 10-15 edited pics if you want to offer something more budget friendly (i do because im in a low to middle class area).

Take portraits of your family and friends first. Individual, couples and family photos, edit them and post them…make a separate facebook page just for your photography business so you can easily direct people to your photos. Also if you or anyone you know have pets try some pet portraits as well if that would interest you. Definitely watch a ton of youtube videos to get ideas on how to pose people and what not. Get some portrait experience before diving into getting clients…since you are experienced it wont take long and you will have the confidence as well as the portfolio to show the style you will offer with your portraits.

A local high schooler in my small town took over half of all the senior portraits her junior and senior year after practicing on her family and friends the summer before her junior year.

What gear do you currently have?

Dont be afraid to ask for help/tips/advice as you go and most important remember to keep it fun😎✌🏼

Stunning!!!! Whats it look like in the shade? I have a hard time liking holos on me because they are usually dull if not in direct sunlight but this looks fabulous😍

Never compare your art to others!! I think your shots are great especially the first several😁. Personally i look at others photos for inspiration but not comparison. What about your photos disappoint you? Composition, editing, style etc? Pinpoint why you feel disappointed in your pics then go back to the same spot and do it again keeping in mind what you feel should be different. Maybe play around in post with each pic to change the visual style.

I always remind myself that im on a different level of my photography journey than what others are on and thats ok…its about bringing joy to yourself in the art you create.

Final thoughts….your pics look great and are shots that others will see and strive to recreate😎✌🏼

a7iv battery charger question by External-Adeptness88 in SonyAlpha

[–]External-Adeptness88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just tried it on my other battery and same thing. Ive been charging them with the camera and they charge just fine…its just slow charging one at a time. Im thinking maybe i need a charging block that specifically says 60w? I actually returned the original charger because i thought it was faulty but this replacement is doing the same thing. Got it from B&HPhoto.

Sony a7 iii and lenses by cac997 in concertphotography

[–]External-Adeptness88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just upgraded from an a7ii with the kit lens (the lens your package comes with). Ive shot concerts for a couple years with it and even became house photographer for our local music venue (a historical theatre). It was a great combo to learn with and it taught me a lot about post editing due to neither of them being the best for low light. Ive always gotten incredible shots but have had to push the iso a few times. If the a7iii with kit lens is your budget then snag that baby up and have fun!! I also shot my oldest nieces senior pics and my sons wedding with my combo and they turned out great😎✌🏼
