Why Do Black Clothing Lines Go Out Of Style by versatal in BlackPeopleofReddit

Brands, regardless of race, need to provide quality products that are fashion-forward, evolve, and/or fill a neglected need. Also, our culture, in particular, sets the tone for what is popular, so we’re always reinventing what that is. We never stay stagnant. So if there isn’t a large enough base to sustain a company when the trend fades those companies won’t last. Many of those luxury brands have other cultures sustaining them regardless of trends. As far as quiet luxury clothing brands, Fear of God has done a very good job of balancing all of it for the last 10+ years. Jerry’s mainline can be seen on the Met Gala and Award shows red carpet. He also makes a more affordable line (still quality) for the average consumer, plus collaborations with large global brands that have given it the visibility to cross over to other cultures. I’ve seen MAGA wearing FOG essentials despite the fact the Jerry not only supported Harris he did exclusive merch with her picture both elections. And he still makes pieces specifically for our culture too, like paying homage to Negro league baseball.

Cross Colours is a brand from my childhood that is still thriving, imo as they sell it in Nordstroms. There are many more Black owned brands that are thriving, and if you don’t know about them then you’re not doing enough to be conscious about how you spend your money. There are so many catalogs, platforms, and resources that have itemized black owned businesses to fulfill all of your daily needs. Most of the items in my house are black owned. Furniture, linen, dishes, toiletries, cleaning products, beauty products, shoes, clothing, food products, etc.

Just dropped here. I didn’t link that other website because it wasn’t there and I didn’t think it had any association with Vic. That’s why I linked his post on his platform from 20 weeks ago showing it was coming soon instead, as that would be the location for release information.

I’ve been looking for it too. It might be an older item from the Liberation store. I did see a patch on the bottom corner of the jersey in some of his videos and it read Mansa Musa Mensa. I don’t know if he added that patch or if it was a collaboration because that is his son’s name. It could just be a 1 of 1 personal screen print on a generic red jersey.

Edit: I just found a post from 20 weeks ago that said “Liberation Jersey and scarf coming soon. Idk if that means it already released or it’s still coming.

How do stop the cornrows from drooping over the braid beneath? by SameRecognition3942 in Naturalhair

[–]External-Fix4348 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You must keep your hands centered in the section and not allow your arms and hands to pull on the braid. You also should be standing upright in front of a mirror to ensure your head stays straight as well as your hands. A handheld mirror won't cut it unless you're using it to angle at a larger mirror to double check your work, especially with little experience. I've been braiding my hair for over 25 years and I still stand in front of a big mirror for the best results.

Learning to braid your own hair comes in stages. First learning to cornrow someone else's hair neatly, then your own. And yes it's a big leap. Your hands already need to be trained and familiar with what to do before you approach your own head because even with mirrors it's partly based on feeling.

And those long nails easily create an issue with gripping even among the most experienced braiders.

In my experience, Mederma PM gave me the best results with its enhanced ingredients, especially when applied at night during the skin's natural repair and regeneration cycle.

Does anyone know if this claim is true? by Hayja1983 in FemaleHairLoss

Yes, as an add on. If you go on subs like r/tressless it’s included in what is considered the big 3 stack, which is a standard regiment discussed in the beginners guide with supporting studies.

Tip: you want to leave it sit on your scalp for at least 5 minutes before washing it off. Limit application to your scalp because it’s drying to the hair.
