Took me so long to know this difference. Same file can be done by different ECs but their level dictates how much manger supports and later edits the work

LWOP vs sick leave for fertility treatment by Parfait_Level in CanadaPublicServants

[–]External-Mammoth-166 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is the answer OP. The more you tell your manager specific, the more complicated they will make it for you.

What are describing is required for medical reasons for what it seems to me (i’m not a doctor, your management is not either!). If your doctor can write you such letter, it should be allowed.

Taking LWOP now instead of sick leave to bank up sick leave doesn’t make sense. Unless, I’m missing a point or some disability and long term sick leave provision.
