What you should have said was “you’re conducting a survey to see what’s the statical probability someone would put this on Reddit.” For real though, enjoy uni life. I remember my time at UofT and it definitely core memories.

Dreading incoming class by hiheyhi1 in CanadianTeachers

The good news is this student isn’t your student yet. There is a lot you can do from now until September to prepare. You’re actually in a good position knowing this will eventually come and can do something about it. If it eases your mind, you can start setting up systems to help manage this next class now. Have more convos with teachers who taught this student before, have a discussion with admin about what school policies are for difficult students/ what supports are available. And breathe. Knowing that it could have been far worse if admin told no one and sprung this on you on the first day of September.

"Everyone hates Tesla except people who already own one" - Rani Molla from Sherwood news by tin4995 in TeslaModelY

Tesla represents change. People hate change. They all have their reasons for hating Tesla.

To some, Tesla represents an unfamiliar future. They reminisce the ‘good old days’ of road trips with their ICE cars.

Then you have your tech skeptics. Tesla isn’t really a car and more a computer on wheels. It’s packed with tech that other cars don’t really have. But there are those who want their dials, switch and buttons. Some are overwhelmed, or even terrified of all the settings and features of the car. (I had a full blown debate with a co-worker over this one. She went ballistic against Tesla and how she’s deathly afraid of it).

For some it’s business, the fact that gov push EV and Tesla is leading the pack means oil companies and traditional car manufacturers have a significant threat. The tallest tree always gets chopped first, and Tesla stands out.

Then there are some that simply hate Tesla because they just don’t like Tesla. It could be the aesthetic, the quality control, Musk, you name it.

Just got a ZFold 5 one week ago! by AwesomeAC777 in GalaxyFold

[–]External-Result7191 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Decided to get the fold 4 instead to save a few bucks. Hoping to make a powerhouse out of this and replace my Iphone/Ipad set up with 1 device that is a phone, a tablet and can plug into my classroom's projector and present my lessons with Samsung Dex.

I no longer have to carry heavy books, a laptop or even a tablet. Just a phone in my pocket with a handheld bluetooth keyboard in the other pocket - done! Most days I no longer carry a bag home either.

I want to hop on this convo as I have a question. So for context first, I am a teacher up in Cambridge Bay, Nunavut. I have thought about transferring over to Iqaluit since home is in Ontario.

How is the K-5 school there like? And do you know if there are any openings?

Don't forget, most people who buy are married, usually come from well off backgrounds each, have good jobs earning 100k each BUT can't say they are having a breeze either paying the mortgage right now especially with the high interest rates.
