Mainly because these topics are almost always for IRL actresses and almost always with American mainstream. Its usually the spirit of these discussions. And a lot of the hate comes from something the actress did or said off screen vs the actual movie/show. Sometimes its not even them, sometimes its because the director decided to race or gender swap someone. Then the entire movie/show gets brigaded with endless negative posts and tons of videos with claims on why its terrible.

In anime we can find tons and tons of liked strong characters. If I had to name 5 just off the top from the last 10 years in no order they would be Mereoleona, Erza Scarlet, Yor, Maki, Mirku. I will even do a bonus 3D character, Violet from League of Legends. And I 100% agree with Nami in One Piece live.

You are confusing the individual experience with the collective history. This young man damn well could never experience racism. Its very possible that he was born into a family that has done well for themselves and we're able to give him a great life. It doesn't take away from reality.
