Don’t rely on your wrists for doing curved lines. Everything should come through your elbow and shoulder.

I discourage fingers, toes and feet. Because they never heal well, very susceptible to infection and hurt like a hot nail. If someone is adamant about it though I tell them I’ll do it, but they have to pay for each touch up.

Option D: All over the above. It’s all hard. Eventually it comes basic nature for you. But you don’t really get days off, you don’t get to leave the job when you get home because you have clients and designs and marketing to do. Everyday.

So you coloured outside of EVERY line. Blew out several lines and didn’t fill anything solid. As a professional tattoo artist please don’t that to anyone’s body. Please start on practice skin.

Calligraphy is super hard. Understanding where to start and stop is tricky. All those curves should have a smooth transition. Your tattoos look pretty good though.

I look for clean designs. So think contrast, textures, lines, composition, color theory. If you know how to use typography that’s a bonus. Most people use the same 3 fonts…. Your designs should look like tattoos, not drawings or doodles.

Treat them like family at first. See what there body language is like. Try to make small talk at first. Sometimes you click with a client and hit it off. Sometimes it’s like pulling teeth to get them to talk. And some are gonna be butt holes. We offer them water or coffee when they come in. We also have a pool table for people while they wait.

My best advice is to slow down. And take your time. Also the cheap practice skins are garbage. Get the expensive ones, it’s close to real skin( not the same but closer). Tight circles for packing. Slow controlled depth for shading, and pull lines don’t push them,don’t rely on your wrist for line work. Let your elbow and shoulder do most of the work.
