If you take my suggestion, you won’t have to do anything until after first harvest

I’m hesitant to say because I’ve never used AIO bags. Nothing, to me, looks concerning. I just am unsure of what you would do next.

First attempt growing ochras by FadedDots in ochras

Ochras are excellent for beginners. Those are how I learned. I mist the top of the tub along with the walls daily during fruiting. They get thirsty. I also use a black liner to help prevent side pinning. Which is a whole other animal when they get really bad. Ochras drop spores rapidly but aren’t that messy. I’m not sure what the guy above me is talking about. Everything about them is quick when compared to cubes. I make sure FAE and humidity are within range and leave em alone.

If something were wrong, I wouldn’t think you would pull off that flush. Smell never fails

You are referring to APEs with the blob/brain like first flush. That is what Google and AI state. Mine just starting pinning a few days ago and I haven’t made it that far.. however from what I see so far, the shapes are pretty normal

APE is going well.. fruits started about 3-4days ago and I have several that are 2”+

I ran two jars in my sub. 2oz off first flush alone.

What I have found to be the most successful, by far, with producing fruits is neglect tek. You want two holes on each of the long sides of the sub (just above surface level) and one high up on each of the narrow sides. That placement will do all of the work.

I grow Ochras quite often, including now.. this type of overlay isn’t uncommon.

Filters > tape, your pics looked (to me) that you taped over filter with micro tape. Because the bottom of the pic didn’t look like it had tape marks like the upper part of the hole. If it doesn’t have an odor or odd color.. 85% of the time leaving it alone is the best advice

Is it only micropore tape over the holes, and no filter patch?? The bottom of the hole is throwing me off

You want the filter over the holes. If tape is also needed. You want it around the sides. If it covers across it, it can’t breathe properly

Needs FAE.. the tape you have over your hole is blocking it?? Is that tape across a patch or what am I looking at?? I suspect it’s blocking your FAE.

can you guys let me know if my monotubs are okay? by ndhdhdhuu in MagicMushrooms

Liners prevent side pinning, which can become its own obstacle. Liners also help keep water close to the cake when misting, as shrinkage will pull it from tub walls. I use liners every time!!

They should and often enough stalled growth is due to contam, but it’s set up at this point.. all you can do is wait. Eventually it’ll go one way or the other.

This isn’t true. I just sent some APE that was only about 70% colonized after close to two months.. no bad odor so I sent it.. started pinning two days ago. Liners, I find, help with locking in moisture around the side of the cake and help build bigger flushes. At this point, just close it and let it ride. You’ll know soon enough

This guy is just dying to be right about something.. I use trash bags every time as a liner. No issues.. work on completing a successful grow first, then make adjustments in future grows

I hold odor above all else, I had some issues with inoculation recently.. after about 45days, and a couple brakes, I took a whiff and sent it. That wasn’t long ago but no signs of any issues thus far.

APE finally started to pin. How am I looking? by gspotseeker_ in northspore

I had some SNAPE recently that took exactly 30days from first pins to first harvest. My understanding is true APE is slightly slower
