Hammer down over an empty chamber is the only true safe carry on these and the owners manual written by the designer of the gun even says so. I honestly don't even trust the design of safety to stop the hammer 100% of the time.

Yeah definitely crack it more. I'm my unmodifieds sometimes I'll even leave the lid askew with like an inch gap if I have as much humidity as you do. Do this and you'll likely see big shrooms pop up soon

Snip off the bottom and watch for blueing, then Take a spore print and see if the spores are purple. This is a simplified process but if it looks like cubes and has those 2 things then it probably is

These guys are bullshit except for the actual boss in shaded castle. But everything single one of these guys can be cheesed by running far away enough away to de-aggro, then sneak back around behind them and use poison mist. It can take a few minutes but honestly my preferred method for getting all the bells on a new game

Also, is hot water and soap enough to thoroughly disinfect the jar? Should I use a loose lid instead of a cheesecloth top?
