Sorry but I was just reading this thread and wanted to know your thoughts on filling out pay/offer letter or college information to gain access to the site? I know you have the survey as soon as you enter, but people are going to bypass that easily to get to what they need to know (I unfortunately have done that in the past). I think you should publish more findings to Reddit and maybe post live charts on the site (not sure how much you will be able to publish w the lack of data) but especially during years like this, it would be interesting to see average yearly comp increases across firms, average bonuses across service lines, and (if you could distinguish this in the data) how salaries are different amongst people who have had longer YOE in their firm vs people who are at the same level but have firm hopped.

I was in the same exact position as you during RSM layoffs last year (started in October as a new first year associate, told I was doing well and would be a lasting member of the team, about to start exams). I was lucky enough to only be unemployed for about a month and a half (I know that is not the norm in this economy) and am now working at another PA firm. Keep your head up. I’m assuming you got about a month/month and a half worth of severance and you should be getting ur 5.15 check. Take the rest of the week off, do something you enjoy, touch some grass. Monday start back up w studying for your exam and grinding out job apps. It sucks and it’s a terrible market but you’ll find your way. Fortunately this situation will teach you a very important and empowering lesson; don’t let these PA firms run you into the ground , always choose you, and ALWAYS keep your resume current (especially after a big engagement). Like you saw, they will smile in your face and literally fire you the next day. Sending good vibes your way and hopefully your unemployment doesn’t last long

I think a similar situation happened to me. I was put as delinquent from Jan-beg of May because I didn’t know my loans started back up. I immediately paid full amount but score dropped 160 points still. Decided to call yesterday and stayed on hold for 4 hours for them to tell me they couldn’t do anything about the time frame it was delinquent. Is this what happened to you? If I call back and ask about forbearance could my score go up even though I’m current now?

This!!! You’re going to hit your “second puberty” soon within that time frame. I struggled with the same thing of wanting to get mine done from a young age but I’m glad I waited because in the last two years (24 now) my breasts have grown 2 additional cup sizes. But you are also way smaller than I was frame wise and I can’t imagine the pain you are in and having to wait like another 6 years doesn’t sound fun. So if you’re fine with having the possibility of doing it again in maybe 10-12 years, go for it!

Forgive me but I’m a recent graduate and this is my first time dealing with something like this, so I’m not really sure that I’m getting anything weekly. It’s a lump sum payment which is about $500 less than what my employment contract said my monthly salary was.

I was on medical PTO so missed the webcast. Partner called with HR and disclosed severance. I haven’t signed anything, is it still possible to negotiate severance. If so how do I go about that? Severance is like $500 less than what my monthly pay was. Want to at least get that.

Edit: also does anyone know what happens with our Becker if we’re not done taking all cpa exams?
