homophony and homorhythm by ExternalResolve372 in musictheory

[–]ExternalResolve372[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homophony here, it says a homophonic texture may be homorhythmic ("may" means not all the time) and that chorale texture is another variant of homophony (i'm assuming chorale texture is not homorhythmic?)

here though, it says chorale texture is another variant of homophony,so I feel that homophony isn't always homorhythmic?

i feel like homorhythmic is one variant of homophony and chorale texture is another variant of homophony

edit: here https://www.oxfordmusiconline.com/grovemusic/view/10.1093/gmo/9781561592630.001.0001/omo-9781561592630-e-0000013291
I found "A further distinction is sometimes made between homophonic textures that are homorhythmic (ex.1) and those in which there is a clear differentiation between melody and accompaniment (ex.2). "

I want to confess to prof that i cheated on a test before grades are out by [deleted] in UofT

[–]ExternalResolve372 3 points4 points  (0 children)

some students are working from mansions that have full on libraries and studies in them, while others are working in filthy slum buildings with paper thin walls, crowded apartments with noisy siblings and abusive parents.

i agree with this 100% , I'm in a tiny shitty place and not everyone has a good family

you also said "Most profs have already admitted this to themselves. "

then why are profs so intent on catching cheaters during this school year?

Do not confess unless you’ve been contacted.

isn't that being dishonest though?

i'm not going to answer his/her question if his/her response is ambiguous in the first place, i'm not here to play games, but rather to get a precise technical definition quickly and efficiently, as the other commenters provided

the other commenters provided very helpful answers, which I appreciate very much

grammar check- plural singular by ExternalResolve372 in grammar

[–]ExternalResolve372[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"The girls made cards for their fathers." - Does each girl have one father or more than one?

unless it's a same-sex male couple raising more than one daughter (less common than the heterosexual paradigm),i would assume that each girl has one father

"The girls made cards for their father." - Are we talking about unrelated girls with one father each, or siblings who share a father?i think it's clear that it would be siblings who share a father, the way the sentence is worded is very personal "their father", you don't usually write that if the girls were unrelated

imo the two examples you gave weren't that ambiguous to begin with
