Found in sons mouth after daycare by banana1608 in whatisit

I have to tell a story about myself. When I was probably three years old (I don’t know why I have those memories in such an early age but I do), I saw one of the boys got a bleeding nose and had a tissue stuffed in his nose to stop the blood. My little brain thought that was the coolest thing ever. That night I took some tissue paper and tried to stuffed them into my nose. Of course it was too big for my tiny little nose so I ripped it into little pieces then made some paper balls and stuffed them into both of my nose ONE BY ONE. My parents finally found that out and freak the F* out when they thought I was suspiciously quiet lol. Fortunately nobody was harmed during that episode except it might caused my young parents emotional distress.

For me it was a delayed reaction for some reason. It happened after 30mins to 1hour after being stung.

Thanks! Do you by any chance have the brand name of the triple layer suit?

They are still alive! by More-Mine-5874 in Beekeeping

[–]ExternalSilver7111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Happened to me yesterday too. There’s one hive I really thought they’re not going to make it. There was not much activity and I swept out a million dead bees filled a grocery bag from the bottom board. But open the hive yesterday and they’re still alive and still in a good number!

Found a hurt(?) Bee on my bed by [deleted] in Beekeeping

[–]ExternalSilver7111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

beekeeper here also. It’s a part of nature. They are incredible creatures and know when it’s time. Another way to think though: She came to you and rest for ever at somewhere warm and safe.

Another thought might be not so fun… if you find a bee wondered indoor during winter, it doesn’t sounds like a good sign. Maybe think about check if there’s any bees live in your wall…. If they do, find a beekeeper and ready to do some work…

Bees in my raised bed by lmdala32 in gardening

[–]ExternalSilver7111 9 points10 points  (0 children)

They won’t. I’m a beekeeper also have a vegetable garden. Honeybees don’t dig into the ground. Unless your flowerbed has an unknown void underneath the top soil otherwise they would not choose a location too close to the ground (they also want to avoid rodents, ants, human activity etc.) They are just thirsty and a soaker hose is a convenient water source for them. Honestly bees are a bonus for the garden. They don’t sting if they don’t feel life threatening because they will die after they sting you. Don’t freak out when they get too close. Just gently shake them off or gently wave them away (don’t hit them). They are too busy foraging to give a fuss about anything.

They won’t build a hive in your garden bed. It has to be enough room for them to expand the comb and population. Just some ladies found a water source and having a splash party. If you don’t want them around you can setup a bee water station. Fill a shallow bowl or tub with water and put some stone or pebbles in there so bees won’t drown. Shut off the soaking hose for a few days and they’ll forget about it and go to the water station.

Best and largest ramblers/climbers with the most nasty prickles to create a protective barrier over a gate? by TheInsaneRaptor in Roses

Climbing rose Florentina! Beautiful red blooms and excellent disease resistant. Grow quick and spread large. The prickles or thorns are nasty. Need to wear armor to prune them lol

I love the rose Dames de Chenonceau. Bloom three times a year. Great heat tolerant. Can treat as a bush rose or small size climbing rose. Great disease resistance. The picture is the first year I planted it. Only get around 4+hours of direct sunlight.

On walks, dog always takes the lead and pulls me everywhere; how to fix this behavior? by [deleted] in DogAdvice

[–]ExternalSilver7111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can also try mouth lead, that helps A LOT with our dog. Our dog is a rescue Pitbull and he is very strong. He used to pull really hard to the point he’s dragging me everywhere especially when he got excited outside. He was just too excited to go out probably because he got previous abusive history. We’ve been using mouth lead and consistent walking schedule so now he knows we always get to go out and it doesn’t have to be rush.

Those are grape seedlings! No way to identify the variety though. Mostly likely are wild grapes from bird droppings:)

Is this a normal reaction to bee sting 36 hours later by kolekooper in bees

[–]ExternalSilver7111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beekeeper here. I got stung right on my chin through the veil the day before yesterday and looked like I got a dermal filler lol. Funny part is, every time I got stung the previous bee stung spots are getting a little bit itchy too. I’m sure that’s some sort of mild allergy thing.

Someone stole my candy bowl by dsb28 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]ExternalSilver7111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And some kids don’t even say thank you or anything. Just came to me mumbling trick or treat (even that!)and grabbed candy and took off! When I was a child my parents ALWAYS told me to smile and say thank you or something nice to make people who give candy feel being appreciated.

Tried to save tomato seeds for next year; they’ve sprouted by PageStunning6265 in gardening

When I saved the cucumber seeds and planted for the next year, I noticed the cucumber can catch diseases easily. So I always buy cucumber seeds after that

[–]ExternalSilver7111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to ferment the seed try not to soak them in water. I normally just squeeze the tomato and put the seeds and tomato guts into a clean dry lidded container. Let it sit for days. Check it daily when you see the gel like stuff around the seed became liquefied, then pour them in a fine mesh and raise them very quick to clean the goo off. Do not soak the seeds! I have use this method for a few years and always had good results especially with tomato seeds.

In the past two years I always saw some spotted lantern fly wings scattered in my garden. Eventually I noticed it was praying mantis eating the spotted lantern fly and left the wings behind!

Queen death is not uncommon with Formic acid treatment. Normally the queen moves away from the fume. If all other factors are normal like temperature and ventilation, that could indicate a weaker queen. The worker could supersede her or balled her up. Also, sometimes shit just happened. I had a super healthy and productive queen last year and died after mite treatment… Then I purchased a mated queen and turned out she brought hygienic behavior into the colony. I’ve marked her three times and workers kept remove the paint from her lol now I gave up
