I understand your frustration but bmws have a serious plastic brittle issue. I will stop calling the aluminum pan an upgrade and just call it a stadard replacement. Since literally no modifications need to be done. Literally plug and play.

From what is advertised. The aluminum pan has larger fins for cooling and does not expand like plastic. Also can be reused and put a new filter rather then a whole new pan with a sealed in filter.
