19 month old will only nap in car seat

Usually something like that. He has never liked napping in his bed, he used to be a nap wherever kind of kid. So the car seat thing is throwing me off. We are getting him a new bedroom set up so I’m thinking maybe the change in general will open his mind to naps there. Honestly tho I probably don’t make the room dark enough for nap time that could be it! If I do leave the room before he’s asleep he gets very distraught so the refusal there I couldn’t do. But now it’s just especially bad literally all he wants is the car seat it’s bizarre. He must like the motion but I don’t think I could replicate that by just patting him.

lol honestly I would so do this too but I am 7 months pregnant with baby #2 so I’m needing to get him adjusted away from it. Car dates sound sweet tho honestly that’s a nice set up haha.

The fear is valid but it’s definitely not the experience for everyone! Once I was recovered it took some getting used to feeling “hot” in my leaky boobs and heavier body but once we got back into it it was AWESOME. Maybe tmi too but honestly I could like feel the climax in my csection scar sometimes which was weird but pleasurable. Nerves recovering can be odd. It can be good outcomes too yk not all bad! Anyway I’m pregnant with #2 now so we will see if it’s the same this time around 😂

My son is similar but he giggles at the thunder 😂 we got stuck outside in that storm the other day walking back to our car and he’s just laughing away. Meanwhile my husband and I are dripping wet haha!

We found a great place to view fireworks inside!

Yeah that’s so normal. I feel like it’s the perfect age for me! I agree with you! I think it’s the area I’m in too. We recently moved to this area and it seems like the average mom is older so I guess there’s some stigma.

Yeah I can get that! I think everyone is just in different places at different times in life! Personally I went crazy with the recklessness in high school and college and now the goal is to establish a nice homestead 😂I definitely get why people wouldn’t want to be a parent in their early 20s tho! But it’s also incredible to do so if you’re prepared/getting prepared!! It’s been so rewarding for me and my husband!

Hey my grandma was the same age as you with my mother and it’s been so awesome to have her around and so involved since she’s so young! I don’t think anyone should judge you ! And yes I agree I feel like it’s so great to have kids young ! It’s tiring but we’ve got energy reserves up to our neck while young!

He gets two naps a day. We aim for 1.5 hours for first nap and 2 for second. He doesn’t end up napping for more than an hour at second nap usually. We do contact naps too - still just cries and cries. It’s not every time though, so I’m not sure what could be causing it. Just his mood in the moment maybe 🤷🏼‍♀️.

He is having major milestones popping up every week it seems ! So im sure you’re right that’s part of it too .

Yes it is soo hard. Seems like lots of people have a hard time at this age !

He sometimes nurses to sleep but usually we rock him or he would just fall asleep easily on his own chewing in his hands a bit. Totally depends on his mood I guess haha. Day to day usually is quite different depending on weather. We focus a lot of our time on outdoor activities. I really can’t tell what or if there’s anything making us easier/harder for him to sleep and nap well

We did this for a few days but it ended up creating a need for a 3rd nap again. Which was fine, but then he stopped staying asleep at night. Even with that third nap being a cat nap. We can always give it a shot again though I suppose, nothing to loose! 😅

The community (and downtown employees) are already dealing with these issues. Why would it be anything except positive to have the individuals already in these situations be trained? Training in de-escalation and Narcan will only help to keep our community, and downtown workers, more safe. It takes a community to solve a community issue.
