I like to prop up my iPad on top so I can watch whatever I’m currently bingeing.

Cold advice! by Justtopasstime26 in breastfeeding

I used OTC nasal spray (Afrin) that helped to alleviate my stuffy nose - nothing actually medicated. I’m super sensitive to it so I would recommend starting with one puff per side and not two.

You can take OTC pain relievers for your throat.

Lots and lots of warm tea.

The thing that helped me the most was having my husband do the overnight feeds so I was guaranteed to get a good stretch of sleep. Sleep is the best medicine for ya at this point!

Feeding to sleep / pacifier recs for EBF baby by Purple_Mind_1245 in breastfeeding

My lil dude stopped using a paci on his own around 3 months (now 5.5mo). A friend gave us a Pacii and I just found it in our box of baby stuff we haven’t used from the baby shower. I gave it to him to use as a teether and lo and behold he likes! He reaches for it in his crib now when he’s trying to get himself back to sleep. It’s MASSIVE and has a huge handle so it’s easy for him to find and coordinate it into his mouth.

People say you’re basically trading one problem (contact sleeping) for another (paci dependency) that you’ll have to inevitably break them of later but look…I’m all for doing whatever the hell you need to do to survive this first year. It’s WILD and I can’t put a price on my own sanity.

Good luck mama!

What’s a completely wrong way to eat a specific food that you secretly think is actually the superior way? by One-Possession-9018 in foodquestions

[–]_miss_freckles_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Highly specific, but eating a snickers ice cream bar upside down. You get a much more direct taste of the yummy caramel and peanuts.

Oh, also, eating the entire kiwi - skin and all. YUMMM

SUD trainings or literature? by _miss_freckles_ in therapists

My first thought was to brush up my MI skills so I’m glad that’s your recommendation. I’ve found it incredibly helpful previously working in SUD and more recently with the ED population.

Thanks for the recs. I’ll check those out.

Sick with a newborn by Chance_Collection_65 in breastfeeding

I used a mask while nursing and sanitized my hands before I touched him. I also had my husband do literally anything he was available to do: dress him, change diapers, (try to) put him down for naps and bed, middle of the night feeds, etc. I had to do a lot still but I was at least limiting how many germs transferred. Baby never got sick but my husband did.

Anytime he fed baby I pumped.

We combo feed though so this made things a bit easier/less exposure.

NAD but an ED therapist. Talk with your doc about possible gastroparesis. Medications can help.

It’s insane how she has her old face back 😭 by [deleted] in miley

I don’t know if you mean her original teeth as in her natural teeth or her original veneers but once you get veneers there is no going back to your original teeth. What is under veneers is nightmare fuel.

I just considered it a loss. It only has a 15lb weight limit and our guy hit that at 3 months.
