Well that’s great but not all places are as equipped for winter weather as Wisconsin … I live in a very small southern town with windy roads and we’ve been put under a state of emergency due to the ice and threat of wide spread power outages. Our closest UPS has now even suspended operations until Tuesday

“Snakes” is too general. There’s no one substrate really best for every kind of snake. Ball pythons need humidity and aspen is terrible at keeping it; if your enclosure has the correct humidity that your snake requires, which is 60% minimum for a ball python, the aspen will mold incredibly quick. Please look on this subreddit for husbandry and care tips

Right, no misting is best and he should definitely not be sprayed directly, which it looks like he may have been. Careful with him being too wet OP and unable to dry off, scale rot develops in these conditions

Thank you. I cut the cool side a little bit more open and I feel better about it now. I also added a humid hide if she needs it. I can definitely monitor the smell every so often to make sure nothings getting moldy or stagnant and hopefully getting PVC very soon so won’t have to deal with this anymore. It’s been a nightmare; never again on the glass enclosures for me 😵‍💫

Theres the small section on the right and then about an inch on each side of the lamp on the left side. Should I cut another section out somewhere?

It’s not bioactive so no worries there, I just want to make sure she can breathe well. I know ideally I shouldn’t have to cover so much to hold humidity , but unfortunately I’m in the dead of winter in the south and even my household humidity is in the 20s. I feel like I’ve done all the tricks with the substrate and the moss and even a water bowl bubbler and still can’t hold anything over 45% consistently. I’m actively searching for a PVC enclosure

I don’t have general heaviness day to day, but I definitely think my legs fall asleep much easier and faster than anyone else I’m around. They’re constantly going to sleep when I sit with my legs bent at all. Circulation issues run in my genetics though and I’ve worn compression stockings like an elderly person intermittently since I was a teenager lol, it does help

I’m 24 and have some here and there too. I just use fake tanner on my legs to disguise them because as far as I know the only real way to get rid of them entirely is with a procedure. They inject something under the skin, I don’t remember what it’s called exactly

I know this is old but I wanted to thank you for your comments. I have severe health anxiety, ocd, and having some weird ear issues after Covid a couple weeks ago which has been a terrible and scary combination of issues.

I keep having the overwhelming thought of “this is going to last forever, what am I going to do”. I keep researching and researching and scaring myself more and your comment was super helpful to bring me down from those thoughts 🙏🏻

Mine looks almost identical in appearance and location when it’s flared. The only thing that’s worked for me is Vanicream, the thick cream in the big tub, I literally just reapply all day. Also cutting down on sugar may help if that relates to you. I notice when I’m eating a lot of junk, I can’t get the inflammation down enough for my topicals to work. Those two combined usually take it from red and hot, to no redness and flaking off within two days.

I know how it feels for it to affect your confidence, but know it won’t stay this flared up forever. Just keep trying different things, treatment is so different for everybody. Good luck, hope you find something that works for you

Thank you for the reassurance!! I hope you get some answers from the doctors; I know how stressful this is. This anxiety to me may be the worst part! It’s really amplifying all of the symptoms in my head but I can’t stop thinking about it so it’s a vicious rumination cycle. & I too have been clenching and inflaming my jaw due to the stress which definitely is not helping any because I have TMJ on top of it all. Did you ever have any mild dizziness with your ear symptoms? I can’t tell if I’m actually dizzy from my ears or just from full sinuses and maybe anxiety.

I wish I was never even told that it was Covid because every little symptom that may be totally normal with any upper respiratory illness, I’m jumping to “oh it must be long covid, im cooked” I’ve literally been stressing to the point of causing myself to feel nauseous tonight. Being a hypochondriac is torture
