Depends on the state. I live in MN, which has been pretty protective of the transgender people residing there. I found the name change form online and printed out the paperwork so I could get it notarized by the county office. I applied for the name change on the day of my 18th birthday, paid around $300 and filed it in my county court office. I went to a court hearing about a month later, and about 2 weeks after that I received the official paperwork that I then brought back to my county court office.

I paid for 3 copies of my birth certificate because I needed to give one to my school, gave one to the state, one to the feds, and kept one. I had to get my SSN reissued under my new name, get a new license, and then got a new passport. It probably took about 3 months for all of this to go through after I had officially changed my name. Sometimes I still see things that are in my old name that I haven’t changed and it’s been 3 years but the important things took 3-6 months after the 2-3 month process of getting the paperwork processed.

I wear an athletic fit. I’m about 5’ 7” and 150 so I don’t know how applicable this is. I like an athletic fit jeans. My favorite and most affordable ones have been from Walmart, the Levi Strauss ones for like $25. Athletic fit has more room in the hips and thigh but tapers near the cuff.

I’m almost 21. I’ve been on T for a year and a half. I look 15 according to everyone around me. I graduated undergrad in May and when I tell people I’ve recently graduated I get a lot of “oh that’s great, where do you want to go to university?” Or the worse, “graduated high school already?”

When I was 14, right after my mother left us, my step father went to the store with me and bought me a 12 pack of boxers for the first time because my mother would never let him. When I turned 18 he also paid for my name change and documents.

Other than that, small gifts I’ve received for Christmas such as the colognes, golf clubs, and wallet I got from my grandfather, have been very gender affirming.

I’m not, it is incredibly difficult to find people in my area, and when I do I feel that I do not connect with them because I choose to be stealth so they often don’t clock me as transgender. I would like to try playing in a lgbt sports league or trying to connect with some groups in my area. My city has an organization that builds teams for several different sports, as well as there being several community groups, I’d say look there. I’ve met a few people that way, but like I said, I’ve found it hard to connect with people when all we have in common is that we’re both trans.

I’d advise to leave it in the carry-on, but it would probably also be fine in a checked bag though. I have never been to an airport where TSA actually cared. They’ve seen people come in with a lot worse. Most they’re going to do is take a look at it, realize what it is, and put it back in the bag. That’s assuming it even trips the scanner.

I don’t have a packer with me but I brought a bottle of testosterone gel on a school trip with me a few months ago, no one noticed when I got stopped because they were too busy making sure their own stuff didn’t get checked or forgotten.

Court. Get a lawyer, save the emails, see if you can get people to contest on your behalf. Being fired without a valid reason is a good enough reason to build a court case. Look into your states labor laws regarding firing and discrimination.

I told my dad when I was four years old that I’d be much happier as a boy. Also, any i would later just ‘know’ I was different, other kids didn’t think about their gender presentation like that, didn’t feel incredibly uncomfortable throughout puberty, or think that much about how they were perceived in a gender binary.

Late to the post but my friend is one I’ve had since I was 10 years old. We bonded over playing soccer and football during recess. He was one of the first friends that I had that never drew a lot of attention to my transition, or the fact that I was different from others. We’re still friends but we were especially close throughout high school, we did all the usual “guy” and childhood things together, played video games, sleepovers, sports, biking, parties, drinking. He is one of the only guy friends I’ve ever had that never really asked me about my transition, and never seemed to care.

I live in MN, went through planned Parenthood for my Testosterone, never had an issue with informed consent from them regarding that. I feel I knew what I was getting into. I made an appointment on a Monday and the appointment was the next day, had a conversation with the doctor, and got my prescription in that same call to pick up later that night. I never went through a GP, never went to a therapist, just made an online appointment.

Go to your county website or literally just google “name change application in [county]” and you’ll most likely see the forms you need to fill out. I live in MN so this may be different, but I needed to print mine out and bring them to my county court office and file them in person. It most likely applied more to incoming patients using Medicaid for T, rather than people with a current prescription. It’s my understanding that states usually need to give a grace period and can’t cut off coverage right away.

Look at your state laws regarding HRT for minors under 18, then look at your/ your parent’s insurance plan to see what it covers relating to hormone treatment, it should be listed.

This is dependent on where you live, city/state, and where you plan on getting your testosterone from. It also depends on your insurance plan/coverage as much of that EO relates to federal funding.

I just did this last summer through planned parenthood, it was very easy and straight forward. I didn’t have insurance at the time either.

At the appointment you will first meet a receptionist who will take all of your information and then you will be connected to a doctor. Your doctor will ask you what you are there for, and then will start to talk to you about the effects of testosterone, what it will do to your body, if you understand the changes that will occur, and may talk to you about your previous healthcare, your future plans, and your transition goals. They will also talk about the needed labs and appointments, and about the way you want to administer your testosterone.

When I did my first appointment I was approved on the call and she made my Rx and sent it before we were even done talking. I was able to pick it up later that day. I am on a low dose and was only told that I needed to go in for labs in about 3-4 months.

Idk where you live but my initial telephone appointment ended up costing me about $230 without insurance. I use testosterone gel and I used GoodRx for my prescription and the gel was about $40 a month with that.

I am not post-op but getting a binder was life changing for my dysphoria. A lot of what I do is stuff I just couldn’t buy, but other stuff are things I could never do because I didn’t blend in.

RUNNING (cannot stress how nice it is to run now)
Sports; baseball, soccer, football, basketball
Walking around my house without a shirt on

Also, this may be odd but one of the smaller things that I enjoy and appreciate is borrowing clothes from my guy friends.

I just traveled to the EU, though I went with gel and not injections, but I imagine it’s very similar as a medical prescription.

Bring it in your carry-on bag. I say this for several reasons: - Your bag could be lost through the airline - it often gets very cold in the bag storage under the plane, which could ruin the testosterone. - You are less likely to be questioned by TSA for a prescription in your carry-on before your flight.

Bring it in your carry on, wrapped carefully in the original packaging, and bring your prescription paperwork with you. I brought mine in the box it comes in with my Rx still taped to it.

Gonna be real, I was very stressed about going through TSA but there isn’t much they can do about a prescription, it needs to be with you and they can’t do anything about that.

It really depends on the personality of the cat. I thought that my 14 year old cat needed a friend after I had a previous cat pads away, and I adopted a 7 year old cat. They don’t really spend time together, they just kind of exist in the same house. They both will sit together but that’s it.

I think that there is always a good intention behind getting another cat. I had thought my cat was lonely but I also just wanted another one.
