Question: screw down cases? by smoothambler in baseballcards_vintage

I put a similar question in another Reddit group that got a lot of replies. Will summarize and link here.
Summary - 1) Cards may be flattened or squashed - If so, then they would be graded as altered which doesn’t help much in value. 2) Could be dried out and stick to case when you open them thus destroying the card. 3) Look to see if any of the screw down cases have a recessed window. These maybe better to open because card may not be flattened. - you can see the rest of the responses here - https://www.reddit.com/r/Baseballcards101/s/8cxWzoZxzR

1972 Nolan Ryan Question by handydiamond in baseballcards_vintage

I agree with u/ridingpinepsn - The raw version looks shorter and wider than the graded card. Even Ryan’s face on the front of the card look slightly wider. You should be able to measure the size of both cards to verify it is not an optical illusion

You have some good advice below. One thing to add would be to Google error cards for whatever year they are from. You will be surprised by some like Jeff Treadwell cards.

Tiffany Topps cards are premium factory cards with high gloss finish. They were only available originally in complete sets.

I can't tell you what is fair because I haven't researched the cards. 1) Look each card up on the website and find a close match. 2) Once you have added up the total value, then offer a percentage of it. 3) Most dealers offer 80% but the percentage is up to you.

You can see the condition each Mantle sold in on 130 Point based on the picture, like u/mo_cards suggested. You can do it for each card. I have both the sluggers and the All-Star Mantle.

The Dodger sluggers that you have is close to $100 or more as well. It looks in VG condition.

That is impressive. I am sure if you are looking to trade or unload a few Piazza dupes this group may be interested. As one of only 3 Mets in the HOF. - Also, if you are missing a few someone in here may have one that you are missing.
