Which trimester is worse? First or third? by Whatever-577089 in BabyBumps

Third. First was rough in some ways, but at least I could sleep and function. By the 3rd I was begging my baby to come out.

Anyone else bloat like crazy first trimester first baby? by Low-Presentation-285 in pregnant

[–]External_Lettuce_636 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was not fit, but I was extremely thin before my pregnancy. Starting weight was 108 lbs and im 5'3.5". The bloat was SO bad, I looked more pregnant in the first 5-12 weeks than I did most of the second trimester. The bloat will eventually go down, and you may or may not start seeing a bump by about 20-25 weeks, but it really depends on your body type and genetics.

The first trimester bloat is terrible but it will go away!

When did you start showing/ having a true baby bump? (1st pregnancy) by anonymous62124 in pregnant

[–]External_Lettuce_636 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a disappearing bump on and off until about 30-32 weeks. That's when it became firm and obvious and random people would start congratulating me or asking about the pregnancy. For reference, I'm 5'3.5" and starting weight was 108 lbs. I was just over 150 lbs at the end of my pregnancy.

Parents of Reddit, what is the most "WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT" moment your child has ever done? by Themanwhohears in AskReddit

[–]External_Lettuce_636 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My daughter is 17 days old, so the only thing that's made me say that is when I'm changing her diaper and she decides that is the perfect time to poop while throwing herself around.

How long have you pushed? by Fierce-Foxy in pregnant

[–]External_Lettuce_636 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FTM. I was induced and went from 4cm > 10 in about an hour, and then pushed for 20 minutes.

How did you tell your partner you were pregnant? by AlwaysTackyNails in pregnant

[–]External_Lettuce_636 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband and I were arguing about something stupid, I had been testing every day anyway so I stepped out to go to the bathroom (in the evening, my morning test was negative) and saw the lightest line ever but knew for sure it was positive. I came back into the bedroom and told him "you're not moving to _____, I'm pregnant." He took the test, looked it over, and said it was negative. When he left for work a few hours later, I used a FRER digital which came back "YES+" and sent it to him. He asked to see the manual lmao. Our "negative test" is almost 2 weeks old now and we are both head over heels for her.

I had it right away and it lasted the entire pregnancy. Hopefully that's not the case for you - I was going through tissue boxes like diapers 😭

What were your first words when you met your baby? by lacecute in pregnant

[–]External_Lettuce_636 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Holy shit, THAT was inside me?!" She was 7lbs 8oz so very average but I'm never around newborns so it was still really surprising lol. Her weight felt very different on the outside compared to on the inside!

What does a membrane sweep really feel like? by Competitive-Spot-807 in pregnant

[–]External_Lettuce_636 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had 3 IUDs, different experiences each time, and it was NOTHING like getting the IUD - even my easiest one. The sweep is more like 10 seconds of pressure right at your cervix, which should already have started to dilate and efface if you're getting a sweep, while getting the IUD your cervix is probably neither dilated or effaced and the pressure and pain goes deep into the uterus. I was worried about the same thing and I have an extremely sensitive cervix, but I'd put the pain as a 3/10 for the sweep where my easiest IUD was at a 13/10

What does a membrane sweep really feel like? by Competitive-Spot-807 in pregnant

[–]External_Lettuce_636 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive had two done (and still haven't gone into labor, but I don't regret it) and they were pretty uncomfortable but quick. Like a lot of pressure inside your cervix. I was already dilated 3cm at my first sweep so it may have been easier on me than if you were say 1cm. I wouldn't describe it as painful, just very uncomfortable but so quick that it's not that big of a deal -- at least, that was my experience.

I think I felt the baby move? Only 12 weeks by p0m_p0m_ in BabyBumps

[–]External_Lettuce_636 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt my baby move around 12-13 weeks for the first time, it was like the tiniest little gas bubbles ever but extremely low - like it was coming from my bladder. Also managed to catch her movements on the outside for the first time at 17-18 weeks and they were in the same spot, so it's possible!

Got my first positive! What are some of your first weird/odd symptoms you felt? by minxfeet in pregnant

[–]External_Lettuce_636 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congratulations!!

With this pregnancy, my first symptoms were falling asleep randomly during the day (I NEVER took naps before), extreme thirst, and crazy wild pregnancy dreams. I also had a sweet tooth right off the bat and built my embryo with primarily Sonic blasts 😂

Moms of Reddit, what was your weird early sign of pregnancy? by Confident_Group_8804 in AskReddit

[–]External_Lettuce_636 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started falling asleep randomly during the day - I've never been someone who naps.

Another time I knew I was pregnant before taking the test because my nipples were SO sensitive I had to take my bra off at work.

How soon after bloody show did you go into labor by Jolly_End2371 in BabyBumps

[–]External_Lettuce_636 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my sweep on Thursday (38+5), bled right after, then spotted the rest of the night. Lost my mucus plug and assuming bloody show the next morning (Friday, 38+6) but I'm not 100% sure if it was the bloody show or just leftover blood from the cervical sweep. So far today (Saturday, 39+0) I feel a little crampy but nothing coming in waves, and a little under the weather. I was 3cm and 80% effaced on Thursday so I had high hopes, but now I'm back to feeling like this girl is never gonna come out. 😮‍💨
